Road surface determination device, suspension control device, and suspension device
A road surface condition is determined appropriately. A road surface determining section ( 84 ) configured to determine a road surface condition with reference to a wheel speed signal indicative of wheel speeds includes a band-stop filter ( 841 ) which acts on the wheel speed signal and has a cutoff frequency band which is changed in accordance with the wheel speed signal.
1. A suspension control device for controlling a damping force of a suspension, comprising:
a suspension;
an ECU including one or more processors, a band-stop filter, a high-pass filter, and a low-pass filter; and
wherein the ECU is configured to:
control a damping force of the suspension,
determine a road surface condition with reference to a wheel speed signal indicative of wheel speeds,
calculate, in accordance with a result of the determination of the road surface condition, a steering-based desired control variable which is to be calculated in controlling the damping force of the suspension,
determine a coefficient indicative of a result of a road surface determination, in accordance with an output from the low-pass filter,
set the coefficient such that the coefficient outputted in a first case where an output from the low-pass filter is not less than a predetermined threshold is smaller than the coefficient outputted in a second case where the output from the low-pass filter is less than the predetermined threshold,
output “0” as the coefficient if the output from the low-pass filter is not less than the predetermined threshold,
calculate a desired control variable which is to be referred to in calculating the steering-based desired control variable, and
multiply a value of the desired control variable by the coefficient outputted;
wherein the band-stop filter is configured to act on the wheel speed signal, and wherein the band-stop filter has a cutoff frequency band which is changed in accordance with the wheel speed signal,
wherein the high-pass filter is provided in a first stage previous or subsequent to the band-stop filter, and
wherein the low-pass filter is provided in a second stage subsequent to the band-stop filter and the high-pass filter.
2. The suspension control device according to claim 1 , wherein the ECU is further configured to select the steering-based desired control variable from among a plurality of candidates including the desired control variable multiplied by the coefficient.
3. The suspension control device according to claim 2 , wherein the ECU is further configured to calculate the desired control variable with reference to a steering torque signal indicative of a steering torque which is applied to a steering member used by a driver for steering.
