Claims (24)

1 .- 20 . (canceled)

21 . A method for applying direct pressure to stop bleeding of a wound, the method comprising:

removing a protective layer from an adhesive layer of a bandage assembly, wherein the bandage assembly comprises a panel, and a protruding portion extending from the panel;

positioning the bandage assembly over the wound such that the protruding portion applies direct pressure to the wound to stop bleeding of the wound; and

adhering the adhesive layer to the skin to retain the bandage assembly over the wound.

22 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising depressing the protruding portion to apply pressure to the wound.

23 . The method of claim 22 , further comprising depressing the protruding portion until the bleeding of the wound is controlled.

24 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the protruding portion comprises a resiliently compressible material.

25 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the protruding portion is hemispherical.

26 . The method of claim 21 , wherein a top surface of the protruding portion is curvilinear.

27 . The method of claim 21 , wherein removing the protective layer comprises removing the protective layer from the panel.

28 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the protruding portion is retained on the panel.

29 . A bandage assembly for applying direct pressure to a wound, the bandage assembly comprising:

a panel comprising a top planar surface, a bottom planar surface, and an exterior edge therebetween;

an adhesive layer configured to retain the bandage assembly on a user's skin; and

a projecting portion extending from the panel, wherein the projecting portion is configured to transfer pressure to the wound to stop bleeding of the wound.

30 . The bandage assembly of claim 29 , wherein the adhesive layer is on the panel.

31 . The bandage assembly of claim 30 , wherein the adhesive layer is on the bottom planar surface of the panel.

32 . The bandage assembly of claim 29 , wherein the projecting portion extends from the top planar surface of the panel

33 . The bandage assembly of claim 29 , wherein the projecting portion comprises a resiliently compressible material.

34 . The bandage assembly of claim 29 , wherein the projecting portion is hemispherical.

35 . The bandage assembly of claim 29 , wherein a top surface of the projecting portion is curvilinear.

36 . The bandage assembly of claim 9 , further comprising a protective layer removably coupled to the adhesive layer.

37 . The bandage assembly of claim 29 , wherein the protruding portion is retained on the panel.
