Abstract

A BOG reliquefaction system includes: a compressor; a heat exchanger cooling the BOG compressed by the compressor through heat exchange using BOG not compressed by the compressor; a pressure reducer disposed downstream of the heat exchanger and reducing a pressure of fluid cooled by the heat exchanger; and a combination of a first temperature sensor disposed upstream of a cold fluid channel of the heat exchanger and a fourth temperature sensor disposed downstream of a hot fluid channel of the heat exchanger, combination of a second temperature sensor disposed downstream of the cold fluid channel of the heat exchanger and a third temperature sensor disposed upstream of the hot fluid channel of the heat exchanger, or combination of a first pressure sensor disposed upstream of the hot fluid channel of the heat exchanger and a second pressure sensor disposed downstream of the hot fluid channel of the heat exchanger.

Claims (27)

1. A boil-off gas (BOG) reliquefaction system comprising:

a compressor configured to compress BOG;

a heat exchanger configured to cool the BOG compressed by the compressor through heat exchange using BOG not compressed by the compressor as a refrigerant;

a bypass line configured to supply BOG to the compressor bypassing the heat exchanger;

a pressure reducer disposed downstream of the heat exchanger and configured to reduce a pressure of fluid cooled by the heat exchanger; and

at least one of a combination of a first temperature sensor disposed upstream of a cold fluid channel of the heat exchanger and a fourth temperature sensor disposed downstream of a hot fluid channel of the heat exchanger, a combination of a second temperature sensor disposed downstream of the cold fluid channel of the heat exchanger and a third temperature sensor disposed upstream of the hot fluid channel of the heat exchanger, and a combination of a first pressure sensor disposed upstream of the hot fluid channel of the heat exchanger and a second pressure sensor disposed downstream of the hot fluid channel of the heat exchanger,

wherein the compressor comprises at least one oil-lubrication cylinder,

wherein the heat exchanger comprises a micro-channel fluid channel,

wherein the BOG reliquefaction system further comprises:

a controller configured to:

determine whether the heat exchanger is clogged by lubricant oil based on a detection result obtained by at least one of the first temperature sensor, the second temperature sensor, the third temperature sensor, the fourth temperature sensor, the first pressure sensor, and the second pressure sensor, and

responsive to determining that it is time to discharge condensed or solidified lubricant oil, supply the BOG to the compressor by bypassing the heat exchanger through the bypass line, wherein when the heat exchanger is bypassed through the bypass line, the BOG is not supplied to a cold fluid channel of the heat exchanger, wherein the reliquefaction system is configured so that the BOG compressed by the compressor is supplied to the hot fluid channel of the heat exchanger, thereby increasing a temperature of the hot fluid channel of the heat exchanger, while the heat exchanger is bypassed through the bypass line.

2. The BOG reliquefaction system according to claim 1 , wherein the heat exchanger comprises a micro-channel fluid channel.

3. The BOG reliquefaction system according to claim 1 , further comprising:

an oil separator disposed downstream of the compressor and configured to separate the lubricant oil from the BOG.

4. The BOG reliquefaction system according to claim 3 , further comprising:

a first oil filter disposed downstream of the compressor and configured to separate the lubricant oil from the BOG, wherein the first oil filter is separate from the oil separator.

5. The BOG reliquefaction system according to claim 4 , wherein the first oil filter is configured to separate the lubricant oil having a vapor phase or mist phase.

6. The BOG reliquefaction system according to claim 1 , further comprising:

a gas/liquid separator disposed downstream of the pressure reducer and configured to separate the BOG into liquefied gas generated by reliquefaction and gaseous BOG.

7. The BOG reliquefaction system according to claim 6 , further comprising:

a second oil filter disposed on at least one of a location between the pressure reducer and the gas/liquid separator, a fifth supply line through which the liquefied gas separated by the gas/liquid separator is discharged, and a sixth supply line through which the gaseous BOG separated by the gas/liquid separator is discharged,

wherein the second oil filter is a cryogenic oil filter.

8. The BOG reliquefaction system according to claim 6 , wherein the BOG reliquefaction system is configured so that the gaseous BOG separated by the gas/liquid separator is combined with the BOG to be used as the refrigerant in the heat exchanger and sent to the heat exchanger.

9. The BOG reliquefaction system according to claim 7 , wherein the second oil filter is configured to separate the lubricant oil having a solid phase.

10. The BOG reliquefaction system according to claim 1 , wherein the BOG reliquefaction system comprises the first temperature sensor, the second temperature sensor, the third temperature sensor, the fourth temperature sensor, the first pressure sensor, and the second pressure sensor, wherein the determination of whether it is time to discharge the condensed or solidified lubricant oil is based on at least one of a temperature difference between a temperature measured by the first temperature sensor and a temperature measured by the fourth temperature sensor, a temperature difference between a temperature measured by the second temperature sensor and a temperature measured by the third temperature sensor, and a pressure difference between a pressure measured by the first pressure sensor and a pressure measured by the second pressure sensor.

11. The BOG reliquefaction system according to claim 1 , wherein the BOG reliquefaction system is configured to generate an alarm to indicate a time point for discharging the condensed or solidified lubricant oil.
