Abstract

A camera supporting base includes a mounting platform with a mounting surface, a lower surface, and a recess area. The mounting surface is raised above and non-coplanar with the lower surface of the mounting platform. The camera supporting base also includes a pliable mass surrounding the mounting platform. The mounting surface of the mounting platform is recessed below a highest contour of the pliable mass.

Claims (61)

1. An electronic device supporting base, comprising:

an integral mounting platform;

a fabric upper cover;

a lower cover connected to said fabric upper cover; and

a pliable stabilizing mass located between said fabric upper cover and said lower cover and surrounding said integral mounting platform;

said integral mounting platform having a bi-level configuration formed by a mounting level and a lower level;

said mounting level having a mounting surface;

said lower level having an upper surface and a lower surface;

said mounting surface being raised above said upper surface of said lower level;

said mounting surface being non-coplanar with said upper surface of said lower level to create a recess;

said lower level being connected to said fabric upper cover.

2. The electronic device supporting base, as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said pliable stabilizing mass includes a pliable material for conforming to irregular surfaces and said pliable stabilizing mass providing stability under conditions of vibration and movement.

3. The electronic device supporting base, as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said integral mounting platform is riveted to said fabric upper cover.

4. The electronic device supporting base, as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said lower cover includes slip resistant material.

5. The electronic device supporting base, as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said lower cover includes slip resistant texture.

6. The electronic device supporting base, as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said pliable stabilizing mass is contained within a flexible tube.

7. An electronic device supporting base, comprising:

a rigid mounting platform;

a stabilizing member connected to said rigid mounting platform;

a first attachment mechanism; and

a pliable stabilizing mass surrounding said rigid mounting platform;

said rigid mounting platform having a mounting surface and a lower surface;

said rigid mounting platform including a second attachment mechanism for attaching an electronic device thereto;

said second attachment mechanism having a first portion and a second portion, said second portion attaching to the electronic device;

said stabilizing member being connected, by said first attachment mechanism, to said rigid mounting platform;

said stabilizing member having a portion thereof being wedged under a portion of said pliable stabilizing mass;

said rigid mounting platform having a first attachment mechanism recess for receiving said first attachment mechanism.

8. The electronic device supporting base, as claimed in claim 7 , further comprising:

an upper cover; and

a lower cover connected to said upper cover;

said pliable stabilizing mass located between said upper cover and said lower cover and surrounding said integral mounting platform;

a portion of said upper cover being located between said lower surface of said rigid mounting platform and said stabilizing member.

9. The electronic device supporting base, as claimed in claim 8 , wherein said lower cover includes slip resistant material.

10. The electronic device supporting base, as claimed in claim 8 , wherein said lower cover includes slip resistant texture.

11. The electronic device supporting base, as claimed in claim 7 , wherein said pliable stabilizing mass includes a pliable material for conforming to irregular surfaces and said pliable stabilizing mass providing stability under conditions of vibration and movement.

12. The electronic device supporting base, as claimed in claim 7 , wherein said integral mounting platform is riveted to said stabilizing member.

13. The electronic device supporting base, as claimed in claim 7 , wherein said pliable stabilizing mass is contained within a flexible tube.

14. An electronic device supporting base, comprising:

a rigid mounting platform;

a stabilizing member connected to said rigid mounting platform;

a first attachment mechanism; and

a pliable stabilizing mass surrounding said rigid mounting platform;

said rigid mounting platform having a bi-level configuration formed by a mounting level and a lower level;

said rigid mounting platform including a second attachment mechanism for attaching an electronic device thereto;

said second attachment mechanism having a first portion and a second portion, said second portion attaching to the electronic device;

said mounting level being raised above said lower level;

said mounting level being non-coplanar with said lower level to create a recess;

said mounting level and said lower level being integral;

said stabilizing member being connected, by said first attachment mechanism, to said lower level of said rigid mounting platform;

said stabilizing member having a portion thereof being wedged under a portion of said pliable stabilizing mass;

said lower level having a first attachment mechanism recess for receiving said first attachment mechanism.

15. The electronic device supporting base, as claimed in claim 14 , further comprising:

an upper cover; and

a lower cover connected to said upper cover;

said pliable stabilizing mass located between said upper cover and said lower cover and surrounding said integral mounting platform;

a portion of said upper cover being located between said lower surface of said rigid mounting platform and said stabilizing member.

16. The electronic device supporting base, as claimed in claim 15 , wherein said lower cover includes slip resistant material.

17. The electronic device supporting base, as claimed in claim 15 , wherein said lower cover includes slip resistant texture.

18. The electronic device supporting base, as claimed in claim 14 , wherein said pliable stabilizing mass includes a pliable material for conforming to irregular surfaces and said pliable stabilizing mass providing stability under conditions of vibration and movement.

19. The electronic device supporting base, as claimed in claim 14 , wherein said integral mounting platform is riveted to said stabilizing member.

20. The electronic device supporting base, as claimed in claim 14 , wherein said pliable stabilizing mass is contained within a flexible tube.
