Abstract

The present disclosure provides a new and distinct hemp cultivar designated ‘CW1AS1’. The present disclosure relates to seeds of the hemp plant ‘CW1AS1,’ to plants and parts of the hemp plant ‘CW1AS1,’ and to methods for producing a hemp plant by crossing the hemp plant ‘CW1AS1’ with itself or other cannabis plants. The disclosure further relates to the morphological and physiological characteristics of the new and distinct hemp cultivar and its uses.

Claims (31)

1. A method for producing a Cannabis plant derived from a hemp variety designated ‘CW1AS1’, said method comprising crossing ‘CW1AS1’ with another Cannabis plant, thereby producing a progeny Cannabis plant; wherein representative seed of the ‘CW1AS1’ variety has been deposited under NCIMB No. 43291.

2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising the steps of:

a) crossing the progeny Cannabis plant from a previous step with itself or another Cannabis plant to produce a progeny Cannabis plant of a subsequent generation;

b) repeating step (a) for one or more additional generations to produce a Cannabis plant further derived from the hemp variety designated ‘CW1AS1’.

3. The method of claim 2 , further comprising the step of contacting the Cannabis plant further derived from the hemp variety designated ‘CW1AS1’ or a plant part derived therefrom with a solvent, or exposing said Cannabis plant or plant part to vaporizing heat, thereby producing a cannabinoid extract.

4. A method for producing a Cannabis plant derived from a hemp variety designated ‘CW1AS1’, said method comprising:

propagating a vegetative cutting from a stock Cannabis plant, thereby producing the Cannabis plant derived from the hemp variety designated ‘CW1AS1’;

wherein the stock Cannabis plant is a product of applying a plant breeding technique to ‘CW1AS1’,

wherein representative seed of the ‘CW1AS1’ variety has been deposited under NCIMB No. 43291.

5. The method of claim 4 , further comprising the step of contacting the Cannabis plant derived from the hemp variety designated ‘CW1AS1’ or a plant part derived therefrom with a solvent, or exposing said Cannabis plant or plant part to vaporizing heat, thereby producing a cannabinoid extract.

6. The method of claim 4 , wherein said plant breeding technique is recurrent selection.

7. The method of claim 4 , wherein said plant breeding technique is mass selection.

8. The method of claim 4 , wherein said plant breeding technique is hybridization.

9. The method of claim 4 , wherein said plant breeding technique is open-pollination.

10. The method of claim 4 , wherein said plant breeding technique is backcrossing.

11. The method of claim 4 , wherein said plant breeding technique is pedigree breeding.

12. The method of claim 4 , wherein said plant breeding technique is mutation breeding, and wherein said mutation selected is spontaneous or artificially induced.

13. The method of claim 4 , wherein said plant breeding technique is marker enhanced selection.

14. A method for producing a Cannabis plant derived from a hemp variety designated ‘CW1AS1’, said method comprising:

crossing a stock Cannabis plant with itself or another Cannabis plant, thereby producing the Cannabis plant derived from the hemp variety designated ‘CW1AS1’;

wherein the stock Cannabis plant is a product of applying a plant breeding technique to ‘CW1AS1’,

wherein representative seed of the ‘CW1AS1’ variety has been deposited under NCIMB No. 43291.

15. The method of claim 14 , further comprising the step of contacting the Cannabis plant derived from the hemp variety designated ‘CW1AS1’ or a plant part derived therefrom with a solvent, or exposing said Cannabis plant or plant part to vaporizing heat, thereby producing a cannabinoid extract.

16. The method of claim 14 , wherein said plant breeding technique is recurrent selection.

17. The method of claim 14 , wherein said plant breeding technique is mass selection.

18. The method of claim 14 , wherein said plant breeding technique is hybridization.

19. The method of claim 14 , wherein said plant breeding technique is open-pollination.

20. The method of claim 14 , wherein said plant breeding technique is backcrossing.

21. The method of claim 14 , wherein said plant breeding technique is pedigree breeding.

22. The method of claim 14 , wherein said plant breeding technique is mutation breeding, and wherein said mutation selected is spontaneous or artificially induced.

23. The method of claim 14 , wherein said plant breeding technique is marker enhanced selection.
