Abstract

An electric power charge and discharge system for an electronic device having a battery, by which the electronic device can be used for a long period of time. In a wireless communication device including a wireless driving portion including a first battery and a wireless charging portion including a second battery, the first battery is charged by electric power from a fixed power supply and the second battery is charged by using electromagnetic waves existing in an external space. Further, the first battery and the second battery are discharged alternately, and during a period in which the first battery is discharged, the second battery is charged.

Claims (28)

1. An electronic device comprising:

a first antenna;

a second antenna;

a connector configured to be connected to an external power supply by a wired connection;

a first battery; and

a charge switching circuit configured to switch an electric power supply to the first battery via the first antenna into an electric power supply to the first battery via the connector,

wherein the first battery is configured to be charged by the first antenna when disconnection between the external power supply and the connector is detected.

2. The electronic device according to claim 1 , further comprising a second battery configured to be charged by the external power supply via the connector.

3. The electronic device according to claim 1 , further comprising a charge controlling circuit configured to convert an AC signal into a DC signal, wherein the charge controlling circuit is electrically connected to the connector.

4. The electronic device according to claim 1 , further comprising an internal circuit configured to demodulate a wireless communication signal received by the second antenna.

5. The electronic device according to claim 1 , wherein the first battery is a lithium ion battery.

6. An electronic device comprising:

a first antenna;

a second antenna;

a wireless charge controlling circuit electrically connected to the first antenna;

a connector configured to be connected to an external power supply by a wired connection;

a first battery; and

a charge switching circuit configured to switch an electric power supply to the first battery via the first antenna into an electric power supply to the first battery via the connector,

wherein the first battery is configured to be charged by the first antenna when disconnection between the external power supply and the connector is detected.

7. The electronic device according to claim 6 , further comprising a second battery configured to be charged via the connector.

8. The electronic device according to claim 6 , further comprising a charge controlling circuit configured to convert an AC signal into a DC signal, wherein the charge controlling circuit is electrically connected to the connector.

9. The electronic device according to claim 6 , further comprising an internal circuit configured to demodulate a wireless communication signal received by the second antenna.

10. The electronic device according to claim 6 , wherein the first battery is a lithium ion battery.

11. A charging method for an electronic device, comprising:

charging a first battery by an external power supply via a connector by a wired connection; and

charging the first battery via an antenna,

wherein charging the first battery via the antenna begins when disconnection of the connector by the wired connection is detected.

12. The charging method for an electronic device according to claim 11 , wherein the first battery is charged by the antenna receiving an external electromagnetic wave.
