Abstract

An electronic device including a housing, a display panel with a flexible substrate, and a flexible printed circuit, in which the housing comprises a flat surface and a side surface comprising a curved region, the display panel comprises a first region that overlaps with the flat surface and a second region that overlaps with the side surface, the display panel comprises a convex portion that comprises a region overlapping with a flexible printed circuit, and the display panel comprises a display portion in the first region and the second region.

Claims (21)

1. An electronic device comprising:

a housing;

a display panel with a flexible substrate; and

a flexible printed circuit,

wherein the housing comprises a flat surface comprising two long sides and two short sides, a first side surface extending from one of the two long sides and comprising a curved region, a second side surface extending from one of the two short sides, a third side surface extending from the other of the two short sides, and a fourth side surface extending from the other of the two long sides and comprising a curved region,

wherein the display panel comprises a first region that overlaps with the flat surface, a second region that overlaps with the first side surface and comprises a curved surface, a third region that overlaps with the second side surface and comprises a curved surface, a fourth region that overlaps with the fourth side surface and comprises a curved surface,

wherein the display panel comprises a convex portion that comprises a region overlapping with the flexible printed circuit,

wherein the third region is the convex portion,

wherein the display panel does not overlap with the third side surface, and

wherein the display panel comprises a display portion in the first region and one or more of the second region to the fourth region.

2. An electronic device comprising:

a housing;

a display panel with a flexible substrate; and

a flexible printed circuit,

wherein the housing comprises a flat surface comprising two long sides and two short sides, a first side surface extending from one of the two long sides and comprising a curved region, a second side surface extending from one of the two short sides, a third side surface extending from the other of the two short sides, and a fourth side surface extending from the other of the two long sides and comprising a curved region,

wherein the display panel comprises a first region that overlaps with the flat surface, a second region that overlaps with the first side surface and comprises a curved surface, a third region that overlaps with the second side surface and comprises a curved surface, a fourth region that overlaps with the fourth side surface and comprises a curved surface,

wherein the display panel comprises a convex portion that comprises a region overlapping with the flexible printed circuit,

wherein the third region is the convex portion,

wherein the display panel does not overlap with the third side surface,

wherein the convex portion is configured to bend the display panel so as to arrange the flexible printed circuit on a rear side of the display panel, and

wherein the display panel comprises a display portion in the first region and one or more of the second region to the fourth region.
