Abstract

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media to detect matrixed codes. A matrixed code may comprise a plurality of colors, an infrared layer, and an ultraviolet layer. The matrixed code may be a fiducial marker for conveying spatial information. The spatial information may stem at least in part from the infrared layer.

Claims (25)

1. A method, comprising:

detecting a matrix comprising a plurality of colors, an infrared layer, and an ultraviolet layer, wherein the matrix is a fiducial marker for conveying spatial information, and wherein the conveyed spatial information stems at least in part from the infrared layer.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the matrix is displayed on a display device and the matrix is detected along a surface of the display device.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the matrix is detected in an environment.

4. The method of claim 3 , wherein at least one of the plurality of colors is a least prevalent color of a plurality of prevalent colors in the environment.

5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the conveyed spatial information further stems at least in part from the ultraviolet layer.

6. The method of claim 3 , wherein the matrix includes at least four distinct colors, each of the four distinct colors being different than each one of a plurality of most prevalent colors in the environment.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein at least a portion of the matrix is derived from a red-green-blue (RGB) colorspace and a derivative colorspace of the RGB colorspace, wherein the derivative colorspace includes a filtered luminance channel, wherein the conveyed spatial information further stems at least in part from the ultraviolet layer.

8. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing instructions which when executed by a processor cause the processor to:

detect a matrix comprising a plurality of colors, an infrared layer, and an ultraviolet layer, wherein the matrix is a fiducial marker for conveying spatial information, and wherein the conveyed spatial information stems at least in part from the infrared layer.

9. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 8 , wherein the matrix is detected along a surface of a display device.

10. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 8 , wherein the matrix is detected in an environment.

11. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 10 , wherein at least one of the plurality of colors is a least prevalent color of a plurality of prevalent colors in the environment.

12. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 11 , wherein the conveyed spatial information further stems at least in part from the ultraviolet layer.

13. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 10 , wherein the matrix includes at least four distinct colors, each of the four distinct colors being different than each one of a plurality of most prevalent colors in the environment.

14. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 8 , wherein at least a portion of the matrix is derived from a red-green-blue (RGB) colorspace and a derivative colorspace of the RGB colorspace, wherein the derivative colorspace includes a filtered luminance channel, wherein the conveyed spatial information further stems at least in part from the ultraviolet layer.

15. An apparatus, comprising:

a processor; and

a memory storing instructions, which when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:

detect a matrix comprising a plurality of colors, an infrared layer, and an ultraviolet layer, wherein the matrix is a fiducial marker for conveying spatial information, and wherein the conveyed spatial information stems at least in part from the infrared layer.

16. The apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the matrix is detected along a surface of a display device.

17. The apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the matrix is detected in an environment.

18. The apparatus of claim 17 , wherein at least one of the plurality of colors is a least prevalent color of a plurality of prevalent colors in the environment.

19. The apparatus of claim 18 , wherein the conveyed spatial information further stems at least in part from the ultraviolet layer.

20. The apparatus of claim 17 , wherein the matrix includes at least four distinct colors, each of the four distinct colors being different than each one of a plurality of most prevalent colors in the environment.
