Abstract

The subject of this disclosure includes an apparatus for visually supporting a tissue ablation procedure, including a display comprising a user interface; and at least one processor in communication with the display, the at least one processor configured to control one or more of a plurality of electrodes of a radiofrequency balloon catheter to ablate organ tissues of one or more targeted pulmonary veins; determine a characteristic, based on ablation parameters of the radiofrequency balloon catheter, of pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) success rate; and present, on the display, visual information corresponding to each electrode for an indication, based on the characteristic, for PVI success rate.

Claims (35)

1. An apparatus, comprising:

a graphical user interface on a display, configured to present to a user, information of an ablation procedure; and

a processor in communication with the graphical user interface, configured to:

control one or more of a plurality of electrodes of a radiofrequency balloon catheter to ablate organ tissues of one or more targeted pulmonary veins;

receive measurement signals representative of one or more tissue temperature values and one or more tissue impedance values proximate each of the plurality of electrodes in contact with the organ tissues;

determine a single shot pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) success rate based on ablation parameters of the radiofrequency balloon catheter, the ablation parameters at least comprising the one or more tissue temperature values and the one or more tissue impedance values; and

present, on the graphical user interface on the display, the single shot PVI success rate in isolating electrical signal propagation in a region of the organ tissues in contact with the plurality of electrodes of the radiofrequency balloon catheter ablating the organ tissues of the one or more targeted pulmonary veins.

2. The apparatus of claim 1 , the processor further configured to present, on the graphical user interface on the display, an indication for the single shot PVI success rate before, during or after a first ablation.

3. The apparatus of claim 1 , the graphical user interface on the display configured to present information corresponding to each of the plurality of electrodes.

4. The apparatus of claim 3 , to the information corresponding to each of the plurality of electrodes comprises at least one of temperature, impedance, power, or time.

5. The apparatus of claim 1 , the one or more tissue temperature values comprising a signal obtained from a temperature sensor disposed proximate each of the plurality of electrodes.

6. The apparatus of claim 1 , the plurality of electrodes of the radiofrequency balloon catheter being disposed about a longitudinal axis of a catheter shaft to define at least a circumferential surface about the longitudinal axis.

7. The apparatus of claim 6 , each of the plurality of electrodes independently connected to a power generator to provide electrical energy to each of the plurality of electrodes.

8. The apparatus of claim 1 , the one or more tissue impedance values comprise a signal representative of tissue impedance measured proximate each of the plurality of electrodes.

9. An apparatus, comprising:

a display screen; and

a processor configured to:

control one or more of a plurality of electrodes of a radiofrequency balloon catheter to ablate organ tissues of one or more targeted pulmonary veins;

determine a single shot pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) success rate based on ablation parameters of the radiofrequency balloon catheter; and

present, on the display screen, the single shot PVI success rate in isolating electrical signal propagation in a region of the organ tissues in contact with the plurality of electrodes.

10. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the ablation parameters comprises a pre-ablation mean initial impedance of less than approximately 95 Ω.

11. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the ablation parameters comprises a pre-ablation highest initial anterior wall impedance of approximately 110 Ω.

12. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the ablation parameters comprises a pre-ablation initial anterior wall impedance variation impedance range of less than about 20 Ω.

13. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the ablation parameters comprises limiting a highest initial temperature to less than about 31° C. among the plurality of electrodes of the balloon catheter.

14. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the ablation parameters comprises a mean initial impedance of less than about 95Ω for and a highest initial impedance of less than about 110 Ω.

15. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the ablation parameters comprising a mean initial temperature is approximately less than about 28° C.

16. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the ablation parameters comprises a pre-ablation lowest value temperature of approximately greater than about 6° C.

17. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the ablation parameters comprises a pre-ablation lowest temperature slope of approximately greater than about 0.75° C./sec.

18. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the ablation parameters comprises a pre-ablation initial impedance variation comprising a range of approximately less than about 20 Ω.

19. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the processor further configured to present, on the graphical user interface on the display, an indication for the single shot PVI success rate before, during or after ablation.

20. An apparatus for visually supporting a tissue ablation procedure, comprising:

a display comprising a user interface; and

at least one processor in communication with the display, the at least one processor configured to:

control one or more of a plurality of electrodes of a radiofrequency balloon catheter to ablate organ tissues of one or more targeted pulmonary veins; and

determine a single shot pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) success rate based on ablation parameters of the radiofrequency balloon catheter.
