Systems and methods for displaying notifications received from multiple applications

1. An electronic device, comprising:

one or more processors;

one or more sensors; and

a memory storing one or more programs configured to be executed by the one or more processors, the one or more programs including instructions for:

displaying a respective user interface of a respective application that includes a selectable user interface object for performing an operation in the respective application;

while displaying the respective user interface:

receiving a notification from at least one application;

detecting that the electronic device is in an unlocked state;

in response to receiving the notification and while the electronic device is in the unlocked state, presenting a banner associated with the notification, wherein the banner associated with the notification is overlaid on the respective user interface including covering at least a portion of the selectable user interface object in the respective user interface; and

while the banner is overlaid on the respective user interface including covering at least the portion of the selectable user interface object in the respective user interface, detecting a selection input; and

in response to detecting the selection input:

in accordance with a determination that the selection input corresponds to selection of the selectable user interface object, performing the operation in the respective application;

in accordance with a determination that the selection input corresponds to selection of the banner and that the at least one application is a first application, presenting content corresponding to the notification in the first application; and

in accordance with a determination that the selection input corresponds to selection of the banner and that the at least one application is a second application that is different from the first application, presenting content corresponding to the notification in the second application.

2. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the banner is provided based on at least one of a time-based or location-based trigger event.

3. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the banner includes at least one associated media file.

4. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the notification includes at least one map uniform resource locator, and wherein the one or more programs further include instructions for providing a map of the immediate vicinity of the location in the banner.

5. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the banner is graphically displayed at the top of a display of the electronic device.

6. The electronic device of claim 1 , the one or more programs further including instructions for:

detecting that a user has not selected the banner after a predetermined time period; and

in response to detecting that the user has not selected the banner after the predetermined time period:

removing the banner; and

adding the notification to a notification center.

7. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the banner includes media that is attached to the notification.

8. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the banner includes text that indicates that the notification is associated with multiple media items.

9. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the banner includes information regarding multiple notifications.

10. The electronic device of claim 1 , the one or more programs further including instructions for:

receiving a second notification from a third application that generated the second notification;

detecting that the electronic device is in a locked state; and

in response to receiving the second notification and while the electronic device is in the locked state, forgoing presenting a second banner associated with the second notification.

11. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein:

in accordance with a determination that the at least one application is the first application, the banner includes a first representation of the first application; and

in accordance with a determination that the at least one application is the second application, the banner includes a second representation of the second application, wherein the second representation is different from the first representation.

12. A method, comprising:

at an electronic device:

displaying a respective user interface of a respective application that includes a selectable user interface object for performing an operation in the respective application;

while displaying the respective user interface:

receiving a notification from at least one application;

detecting that the electronic device is in an unlocked state;

in response to receiving the notification and while the electronic device is in the unlocked state, presenting a banner associated with the notification, wherein the banner associated with the notification is overlaid on the respective user interface including covering at least a portion of the selectable user interface object in the respective user interface; and

while the banner is overlaid on the respective user interface including covering at least the portion of the selectable user interface object in the respective user interface, detecting a selection input; and

in response to detecting the selection input:

in accordance with a determination that the selection input corresponds to selection of the selectable user interface object, performing the operation in the respective application:

in accordance with a determination that the selection input corresponds to selection of the banner and that the at least one application is a first application, presenting content corresponding to the notification in the first application; and

in accordance with a determination that the selection input corresponds to selection of the banner and that the at least one application is a second application that is different from the first application, presenting content corresponding to the notification in the second application.

13. The method of claim 12 , wherein the banner is provided based on at least one of a time-based or location-based trigger event.

14. The method of claim 12 , wherein the banner includes at least one associated media file.

15. The method of claim 12 , wherein the notification includes at least one map uniform resource locator, and wherein the method further comprises providing a map of the immediate vicinity of the location in the banner.

16. The method of claim 12 , wherein the banner is graphically displayed at the top of a display of the electronic device.

17. The method of claim 12 , further comprising:

detecting that a user has not selected the banner after a predetermined time period; and

in response to detecting that the user has not selected the banner after the predetermined time period:

removing the banner; and

adding the notification to a notification center.

18. The method of claim 12 , wherein the banner includes media that is attached to the notification.

19. The method of claim 12 , wherein the banner includes text that indicates that the notification is associated with multiple media items.

20. The method of claim 12 , wherein the banner includes information regarding multiple notifications.

21. The method of claim 12 , further comprising:

receiving a second notification from a third application that generated the second notification;

detecting that the electronic device is in a locked state; and

in response to receiving the second notification and while the electronic device is in the locked state, forgoing presenting a second banner associated with the second notification.

22. The method of claim 12 , wherein:

in accordance with a determination that the at least one application is the first application, the banner includes a first representation of the first application; and

in accordance with a determination that the at least one application is the second application, the banner includes a second representation of the second application, wherein the second representation is different from the first representation.

23. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing one or more programs configured to be executed by one or more processors of an electronic device, the one or more programs including instructions for:

displaying a respective user interface of a respective application that includes a selectable user interface object for performing an operation in the respective application;

while displaying the respective user interface:

receiving a notification from at least one application;

detecting that the electronic device is in an unlocked state;

in response to receiving the notification and while the electronic device is in the unlocked state, presenting a banner associated with the notification, wherein the banner associated with the notification is overlaid on the respective user interface including covering at least a portion of the selectable user interface object in the respective user interface; and

while the banner is overlaid on the respective user interface including covering at least the portion of the selectable user interface object in the respective user interface, detecting a selection input; and

in response to detecting the selection input:

in accordance with a determination that the selection input corresponds to selection of the selectable user interface object, performing the operation in the respective application;

in accordance with a determination that the selection input corresponds to selection of the banner and that the at least one application is a first application, presenting content corresponding to the notification in the first application; and

in accordance with a determination that the selection input corresponds to selection of the banner and that the at least one application is a second application that is different from the first application, presenting content corresponding to the notification in the second application.

24. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 23 , wherein the banner is provided based on at least one of a time-based or location-based trigger event.

25. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 23 , wherein the banner includes at least one associated media file.

26. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 23 , wherein the notification includes at least one map uniform resource locator, and wherein the one or more programs further include instructions for providing a map of the immediate vicinity of the location in the banner.

27. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 23 , wherein the banner is graphically displayed at the top of a display of the electronic device.

28. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 23 , the one or more programs further including instructions for:

detecting that a user has not selected the banner after a predetermined time period; and

in response to detecting that the user has not selected the banner after the predetermined time period:

removing the banner; and

adding the notification to a notification center.

29. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 23 , wherein the banner includes media that is attached to the notification.

30. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 23 , wherein the banner includes text that indicates that the notification is associated with multiple media items.

31. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 23 , wherein the banner includes information regarding multiple notifications.

32. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 23 , the one or more programs further including instructions for:

receiving a second notification from a third application that generated the second notification;

detecting that the electronic device is in a locked state; and

in response to receiving the second notification and while the electronic device is in the locked state, forgoing presenting a second banner associated with the second notification.

33. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 23 , wherein:

in accordance with a determination that the at least one application is the first application, the banner includes a first representation of the first application; and

in accordance with a determination that the at least one application is the second application, the banner includes a second representation of the second application, wherein the second representation is different from the first representation.
