Abstract

An integrated security system that includes a security coprocessor coupled to a conventional security system panel and an interactive security system. The integrated security system enables conventional security system features as well as the consumer-oriented interactive features and functions of an interactive security system without sacrificing reliability or the significant burden and cost associated with frequent software updates associated with conventional security systems. The integrated security system also minimizes or eliminates the need for new battery backup circuitry or larger batteries.

Claims (34)

1. A method comprising:

determining, by a device application on a computing device, a priority of each of a plurality of applications on the computing device, wherein the plurality of applications are associated with a plurality of premises devices of a premises management system;

receiving a first resource request associated with a first application of the plurality of applications;

receiving a second resource request associated with a second application of the plurality of applications; and

causing, based on determining that the first application has a higher priority than the second application, the first resource request to have a higher priority than the second resource request.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the causing the first resource request to have a higher priority than the second resource request comprises at least one of responding to one or more resource requests, processing one or more resource requests, monitoring application behavior, or responding to one or more requests for a cache update.

3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the one or more resource requests are associated with at least one of memory, caching, power, application version management, application updates, or caching or synchronizing user preferences.

The method of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of premises devices comprises at least one of a camera, a thermostat control, energy control, a door locking mechanism, a lighting control, a door sensor, a window sensor, a motion sensor, a glass break detector, a smoke detector, a fire sensor, or a flood sensor.

The method of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of applications comprise at least one of a maintenance and service application, a camera application, a thermostat application, an energy application, a door application, a window application, a lighting application, a motion sensor application, a glass break detector application, a smoke detector application, a fire sensor application, or a flood sensor application.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the computing device and the plurality of premises devices are located at a premises.

7. The method of claim 6 , wherein the premises management system comprises at least one of a security system or a home automation system located at the premises.

8. A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions that, when executed, cause:

determining, by a device application on a computing device, a priority of each of a plurality of applications on the computing device, wherein the plurality of applications are associated with a plurality of premises devices of a premises management system;

receiving a first resource request associated with a first application of the plurality of applications;

receiving a second resource request associated with a second application of the plurality of applications; and

causing, based on determining that the first application has a higher priority than the second application, the first resource request to have a higher priority than the second resource request.

The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 8 , wherein the instructions that when executed, cause the first resource request to have a higher priority than the second resource request comprises at least one of responding to one or more resource requests, processing one or more resource requests, monitoring application behavior, or responding to one or more requests for a cache update.

10. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 9 , wherein the one or more resource requests is associated with at least one of memory, caching, power, application version management, application updates, or caching or synchronizing user preferences.

11. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 8 , wherein the plurality of premises devices comprises at least one of a camera, a thermostat control, an energy control, a door locking mechanism, a lighting control, a door sensor, a window sensor, a motion sensor, a glass break detector, a smoke detector, a fire sensor, or a flood sensor.

12. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 8 , wherein the plurality of applications comprise at least one of a maintenance and service application, a camera application, a thermostat application, an energy application, a door application, a window application, a lighting application, a motion sensor application, a glass break detector application, a smoke detector application, a fire sensor application, or a flood sensor application.

13. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 8 , wherein the computing device and the plurality of premises devices are located at a premises.

14. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 13 , wherein the premises management system comprises at least one of a security system or a home automation system located at the premises.

15. A computing device comprising:

one or more processors; and

instructions, that when executed by the one or more processors, cause the computing device to:

determine, by a device application on the computing device, a priority of each of a plurality of applications on the computing device, wherein the plurality of applications are associated with a plurality of premises devices of a premises management system;

receive a first resource request associated with a first application of the plurality of applications;

receive a second resource request associated with a second application of the plurality of applications; and

cause, based on determining that the first application has a higher priority than the second application, the first resource request to have a higher priority than the second resource request.

The computing device of claim 15 , wherein the instructions that cause the computing device to cause the first resource request to have a higher priority than the second resource request cause the computing device to at least one of respond to one or more resource requests, process one or more resource requests, monitor application behavior, or respond to one or more requests for a cache update.

17. The computing device of claim 16 , wherein each resource request is associated with at least one of memory, caching, power, application version management, application updates, or caching or synchronizing user preferences.

The computing device of claim 15 , wherein the plurality of premises devices comprises at least one of a camera, a thermostat control, an energy control, a door locking mechanism, a lighting control, a door sensor, a window sensor, a motion sensor, a glass break detector, a smoke detector, a fire sensor, or a flood sensor.

19. The computing device of claim 15 , wherein the plurality of applications comprise at least one of a maintenance and service application, camera application, a thermostat application, an energy application, a door application, a window application, a lighting application, a motion sensor application, a glass break detector application, a smoke detector application, a fire sensor application, or a flood sensor application.

20. The computing device of claim 15 , wherein the computing device and the plurality of premises devices are located at a premises.
