Abstract

A computer method for presenting official information about a proprietary rights asset includes presenting summary information about the proprietary rights asset via a user interface on an electronic display and receiving a graphical command from a user via the user interface to obtain detailed information about the proprietary rights asset. The graphical command to obtain detailed information causes a computer memory, e.g. in the form of a blockchain, to be decrypted. The decrypted information includes one or more pointers to an external resource such as a government patent and/or trademark office.

Claims (76)

1 . A computer method for presenting official information about a proprietary rights asset, comprising:

presenting summary information about a proprietary rights asset via a user interface on an electronic display;

receiving a graphical command from a user via the user interface to obtain detailed information about the proprietary rights asset;

accessing and decrypting data in a computer memory corresponding to the proprietary rights asset;

reading an Internet address from the decrypted data, the Internet address being hosted by a government proprietary rights office; and

displaying information from the Internet address to the user on the electronic display.

2 . The computer method of claim 1 ,

wherein accessing the data in the computer memory includes accessing blockchain data; and

wherein decrypting the data includes decrypting some or all of the blockchain data.

3 . The computer method of claim 2 ,

wherein decrypting some or all of the blockchain data includes decrypting at least a portion of a side chain.

4 . The computer method of claim 2 ,

wherein decrypting the blockchain data includes decrypting one block of the blockchain.

5 . The computer method of claim 1 ,

wherein reading the Internet address from the decrypted data includes reading blockchain transaction data.

6 . The computer method of claim 1 ,

wherein reading the Internet address from the decrypted data includes reading a uniform resource locator.

7 . The computer method of claim 1 ,

wherein reading the Internet address from the decrypted data includes reading an Internet Protocol address.

8 . The computer method of claim 1 ,

wherein displaying the information from the Internet address includes displaying a full text image of a patent or a published patent application.

9 . The computer method of claim 1 ,

wherein displaying the information from the Internet address includes displaying information from a public or private Patent Application Information Retrieval page corresponding to the proprietary rights asset.

10 . The computer method of claim 1 , further comprising:

opening a viewing window, tab, or screen in the user interface;

wherein displaying the information from the Internet address includes displaying the information in the opened viewing window, tab or screen.

11 . The computer method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving a graphical command from the user via the user interface to swap a cryptocurrency for a blockchain token corresponding to the proprietary rights asset; and

swapping the blockchain token into a user wallet for the cryptocurrency received into a proprietary rights asset wallet.

12 . The computer method of claim 11 ,

wherein at least one of the blockchain token or the cryptocurrency includes a fractional portion.

13 . The computer method of claim 11 ,

wherein accessing and decrypting the data in the computer memory includes accessing a blockchain carrying the swap transaction.

14 . The computer method of claim 1 , wherein the proprietary rights asset is an intellectual property asset.

15 . The computer method of claim 13 ,

wherein displaying the information from the Internet address includes displaying an image of a patent.

16 . The computer method of claim 13 ,

wherein displaying the information from the Internet address includes displaying an image of a published patent application.

17 . The computer method of claim 13 ,

wherein displaying the information from the Internet address includes displaying an assignment corresponding to the intellectual property asset.

18 . The computer method of claim 13 ,

wherein displaying the information from the Internet address includes displaying a prosecution history of the intellectual property asset.

19 . The computer method of claim 13 ,

wherein displaying the information from the Internet address includes displaying an image of a trademark.

20 . The computer method of claim 13 ,

wherein displaying the information from the Internet address includes displaying a record of a Patent Trial and Appeal Board proceeding.

21 . The computer method of claim 13 ,

wherein displaying the information from the Internet address includes displaying a public record from a court proceeding.

22 . The computer method of claim 1 ,

wherein reading the Internet address from the decrypted data includes reading an address label;

further comprising, decoding the address label to determine an actual information storage address; and

wherein reading the Internet address from the decrypted data includes reading the actual information storage address.

23 . The computer method of claim 22 ,

wherein displaying information from the Internet address to the user on the electronic display includes masking the data from the Internet address to substantially prevent the user from deducing the actual information storage address.

24 . A computing system, comprising:

at least one or more processors; and

at least one computer readable memory having instructions therein, which, when executed by the one or more processors, perform a process including:

presenting summary information about a proprietary rights asset via a user interface of a proprietary rights assets exchange system;

receiving, from the user via the user interface, a command to obtain detailed information about the proprietary rights asset;

reading, from one or more blockchains, an Internet address associated with the proprietary rights asset; and

displaying, to the user, additional information associated with the proprietary rights asset from the Internet address.

25 . The computing system of claim 24 , wherein the proprietary rights asset is a patent asset.

26 . The computing system of claim 25 , wherein the summary information includes an abstract of a patent application or an issued patent.

27 . The computing system of claim 25 , wherein the summary information includes a title of a patent application or an issued patent.

28 . The computing system of claim 25 , wherein the summary information includes a patent number or a patent application number.

29 . The computing system of claim 25 , wherein the additional information includes a complete patent application.

30 . The computing system of claim 25 , wherein the additional information includes a complete issued patent.

31 . The computing system of claim 25 , wherein the additional information includes text of a patent application or an issued patent.

32 . The computing system of claim 25 , wherein the additional information includes figures from a patent application or an issued patent.

33 . The computing system of claim 25 , wherein the additional information includes claims from a patent application or issued patent.

34 . The computing system of claim 24 , wherein reading the Internet address includes decrypting the Internet address.

35 . The computing system of claim 34 , wherein decrypting the Internet address includes decrypting the Internet address with a private key.

36 . The computing system of claim 34 , wherein decrypting the Internet address includes decrypting the Internet address with a public key.

37 . The computing system of claim 34 , wherein decrypting the Internet address includes:

decrypting an address label; and

decoding the address label to determine the Internet address.
