Abstract

The present disclosure describes a computer-implemented platform for managing electronic instruments and electronic endorser verification information in order to validate endorser identity. A generated link and a verification information request are sent in one or more messages targeted a phone number of a computing device associated with a target party. The verification information request includes a request for imagery of the target party captured by the computing device. An endorsed electronic instrument and electronic verification information is received from the computing device, including received imagery data and a time stamp indicating when the received imagery data was captured. The received imagery data is validated at least according to whether the time stamp is sufficiently recent, and whether the received imagery data sufficiently matches expected imagery data of the requesting party based on performing a facial recognition on the received imagery data and the expected imagery data.

Claims (43)

1. A computer system, comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory having stored thereon computer-executable instructions that are executable by the one or more processors to configure the computer system to perform at least the following:

receive an electronic instrument from a requesting party;

receive a phone number of a computing device associated with a target party;

generate a link to an application at which the electronic instrument is accessible to the computing device associated with the target party;

send the generated link and a verification information request in one or more messages targeted to the phone number of the computing device associated with the target party, the verification information request including a request for imagery of the target party captured by the computing device associated with the target party, wherein the generated link is associated with a time limit after which the generated link is no longer active; and

receive an endorsed electronic instrument and electronic verification information from the computing device associated with the target party, the electronic verification information including received imagery data and a time stamp indicating when the received imagery data was captured,

wherein the received imagery data is validated at least according to,

whether the time stamp is sufficiently recent based on a time or time period to prevent reuse of image data, and

whether the received imagery data matches, based on a threshold, expected imagery data of the requesting party based on performing a facial recognition on the received imagery data and the expected imagery data.

2. The computer system of claim 1 , wherein the expected imagery data comprises one or more images obtained from social media.

3. The computer system of claim 1 , wherein the verification information request includes a request for imagery of the target party according to a particular pose, and wherein the received imagery data is also validated at least according to performing an image recognition algorithm on the received imagery data to recognize the particular pose.

4. The computer system of claim 1 , wherein the verification information request includes a request for video of the target party performing a particular gesture, and wherein the received imagery data is also validated at least according to performing an image recognition algorithm on the received imagery data to recognize the particular gesture.

5. The computer system of claim 1 , wherein the verification information request includes a request for an image of a particular alphanumeric code, and wherein the received imagery data is also validated at least according to performing an image recognition algorithm on the received imagery data to recognize the particular alphanumeric code.

6. The computer system of claim 1 , wherein the verification information request additionally includes a request for entry of a biometric indicator.

7. The computer system of claim 6 , wherein the request for entry of the biometric indicator includes a request for a fingerprint.

8. The computer system of claim 1 , wherein the verification information request additionally includes a request for a voice recording.

9. The computer system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more messages targeted to the phone number of the computing device associated with the target party include at least one SMS message or at least one MMS message.

10. A method implemented at a computer system that includes one or more processors, the method comprising:

receiving an electronic instrument from a requesting party;

receiving a phone number of a computing device associated with a target party;

generating a link to an application at which the electronic instrument is accessible to the computing device associated with the target party;

sending the generated link and a verification information request in one or more messages targeted to the phone number of the computing device associated with the target party, the verification information request including a request for imagery of the target party captured by the computing device associated with the target party, wherein the generated link is associated with a time limit after which the generated link is no longer active; and

receiving an endorsed electronic instrument and electronic verification information from the computing device associated with the target party, the electronic verification information including received imagery data and a time stamp indicating when the received imagery data was captured,

wherein the received imagery data is validated at least according to,

whether the time stamp is sufficiently recent based on a time or time period to prevent reuse of image data, and

whether the received imagery data matches, based on a threshold, expected imagery data of the requesting party based on performing a facial recognition on the received imagery data and the expected imagery data.

11. The method of claim 10 , wherein the verification information request includes a request for imagery of the target party according to a particular pose, and wherein the received imagery data is also validated at least according to performing an image recognition algorithm on the received imagery data to recognize the particular pose.

12. The method of claim 10 , wherein the verification information request includes a request for video of the target party performing a particular gesture, and wherein the received imagery data is also validated at least according to performing an image recognition algorithm on the received imagery data to recognize the particular gesture.

13. The method of claim 10 , wherein the verification information request includes a request for an image of a particular alphanumeric code, and wherein the received imagery data is also validated at least according to performing an image recognition algorithm on the received imagery data to recognize the particular alphanumeric code.

14. The method of claim 10 , wherein the verification information request additionally includes a request for entry of a biometric indicator.

15. The method of claim 10 , wherein the verification information request additionally includes a request for a voice recording.

16. The method of claim 10 , wherein the one or more messages targeted to the phone number of the computing device associated with the target party include at least one SMS message or at least one MMS message.

17. A computer program product comprising one or more hardware storage devices having stored thereon computer-executable instructions that are executable by one or more processors to configure a computer system to perform at least the following:

receive an electronic instrument from a requesting party;

receive a phone number of a computing device associated with a target party;

generate a link to an application at which the electronic instrument is accessible to the computing device associated with the target party;

send the generated link and a verification information request in one or more messages targeted to the phone number of the computing device associated with the target party, the verification information request including a request for imagery of the target party captured by the computing device associated with the target party, wherein the generated link is associated with a time limit after which the generated link is no longer active; and

receive an endorsed electronic instrument and electronic verification information from the computing device associated with the target party, the electronic verification information including received imagery data and a time stamp indicating when the received imagery data was captured,

wherein the received imagery data is validated at least according to,

whether the time stamp is sufficiently recent based on a time or time period to prevent reuse of image data, and

whether the received imagery data matches, based on a threshold, expected imagery data of the requesting party based on performing a facial recognition on the received imagery data and the expected imagery data.
