Abstract

A communication apparatus includes a user signal transmission unit that transmits a user signal required for an end user to perform communication; a manager function implementing unit that implements a function provided to a manager of the present apparatus; a license monitoring unit that monitors a license of the present apparatus, and outputs a function limitation signal when the license has expired; and a function limitation unit that limits the function implemented by the manager function implementing unit when receiving the function limitation signal. In a communication apparatus that transmits a user signal required for an end user to perform communication, a function of the apparatus is limited when a relevant license has expired, while preventing an influence of the limitation upon the end user.

Claims (19)

1. A radio communication apparatus in a mobile communication system, the radio communication apparatus comprising:

one or more memories configured to store instructions; and

one or more processors configured to execute the instructions to:

perform radio transmission and reception functions,

transfer data from a plurality of mobile stations towards a core network,

adopt license information indicating a license period and a license function representing settings of the radio transmission and reception functions, and

apply a limitation on the license function due to expiration of the license period.

2. The radio communication apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to further execute the instructions to release the limitation due to updating of the license information.

3. The radio communication apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the license information is rewritten and updated with new license information.

4. The radio communication apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the expiration of the license period is indicated by letters, images or voices.

5. A method for a radio communication apparatus in a mobile communication system, the method comprising:

performing radio transmission and reception functions;

transferring data from a plurality of mobile stations towards a core network;

adopting license information indicating a license period and a license function representing at least settings of the radio transmission and reception functions; and

applying a limitation on the license function due to expiration of the license period.

6. The method according to claim 5 , further comprising:

releasing the limitation due to updating of the license information.

7. The method according to claim 5 , wherein the license information is rewritten and updated with new license information.

8. The method according to claim 5 , wherein the expiration of the license period is indicated by letters, images or voices.
