Universal adapter plate assembly
An improved universal zero-moment support and adapter plate assembly is shown and described. In one embodiment, the assembly comprises an adjustable zero-moment support configured together with an off-axis adjustment. In other embodiments, an adapter and support assembly includes an external fitting, an adapter plate and an adjustable zero-moment support.
1. An adapter and support assembly for transferring load with an off-axis adjustment, the assembly comprising:
(a) an external fitting;
(b) an adapter plate; and
(c) at least one adjustable zero-moment support connecting said adapter plate to said external fitting, and wherein said adjustable zero-moment support comprising an upper fitting having a threaded aperture and a non-threaded aperture adjacent said at least one threaded aperture, and a lower fitting having at least one threaded aperture, and wherein said upper fitting and said lower fitting are positioned together with an off-axis adjustment.
2. The assembly of claim 1 , further including an antenna assembly attached to said adapter plate.
3. The assembly of claim 2 , wherein said antenna assembly includes an aircraft antenna.
4. The assembly of claim 2 , wherein said antenna assembly includes a receiver transmitter.
5. The assembly of claim 2 , wherein said antenna assembly is adapted to move independently during pressurization.
6. The assembly of claim 1 , further including a radome positioned on an aircraft.
7. The assembly of claim 6 , further including a skirt adapted to fit over said radome.
8. The assembly of claim 7 , further including a seal adapted to seal said radome to said skin of said aircraft.
9. An adapter and support assembly comprising:
(a) an external fitting;
(b) an adapter plate;
(c) at least one adjustable zero-moment support for connecting said adapter plate to said external fitting, said adjustable zero-moment support including (i) an upper fitting having a threaded aperture with a compression fastener and a non-threaded aperture adjacent said threaded aperture with a tension fastener and (ii) a lower fitting having at least one threaded aperture, wherein said upper fitting and said lower fitting are positioned together with an off-axis adjustment; and
(d) an antenna assembly attached to said adapter plate.
10. The assembly of claim 9 , wherein said antenna assembly includes an aircraft antenna.
11. The assembly of claim 9 , further including a radome positioned on an aircraft.
12. The assembly of claim 11 , further including a skirt adapted to fit over said radome.
13. The assembly of claim 12 , further including a seal adapted to seal said radome to said skin of said aircraft.
14. The assembly of claim 9 , wherein said antenna assembly includes a receiver transmitter.
15. The assembly of claim 9 , wherein said antenna assembly is adapted to move independently during pressurization.
