Biometric notification system
The present invention provides a biometric notification system for selectively sending messages to interested recipients. In various embodiments, message trigger criteria, interested recipients, and message content may vary depending upon, among other things, the service being provided.
1. A biometric notification system (“BNS”) with facial recognition and related services, the system comprising:
a person of interest and a facial feature set FFS 0 of the person of interest;
plural digital video cameras (C 1 . . . Cn) for monitoring respective zones (Z 1 . . . Zn) and a network that interconnects the video cameras with a data processing system including a processing facility and a database facility;
C 1 Z 1 and C 2 Z 2 acquiring video frames, each video frame associated with a date and time stamp and saved in the database facility;
a group G 1 of C 1 Z 1 video frames containing images from which a common facial feature set FFS 1 is derived;
a group G 2 of C 2 Z 2 video frames containing images from which a common facial feature set FFS 2 is derived; and,
where there is a three-way match between FFS 0 , FFS 1 , and FFS 2 , the frames of G 1 and G 2 are played back in chronological order.
2. The biometric notification system (“BNS”) of claim 1 further comprising:
an overlap of coverage by camera C 1 and camera C 2 such that a video frame in G 1 has the same date and time stamp as a video frame in G 2 ;
wherein one of the video frames that coincides in date and time is not included in the playback.
3. The biometric notification system (“BNS”) of claim 1 further comprising:
an overlap of coverage by camera C 1 and camera C 2 such that at the same date and time a video frame in G 1 and a video frame in G 2 include the person of interest;
wherein one of the video frames that coincides in date and time is not included in the playback.
4. A biometric notification system (“BNS”) with facial recognition and related services, the system comprising:
plural digital video cameras (C 1 . . . Cn) for monitoring respective zones (Z 1 . . . Zn) and a network that interconnects the video cameras with a data processing system including a processing facility and a database facility;
the cameras for acquiring video frames from the zones, at least one video frame including a respective first content from which a first facial feature set can be derived;
a database of the database facility includes plural cases and each case identifies a person by linking a name, with a second facial feature set, and a case group;
for each video frame, a comparison of the first facial feature set from Cx, Zx with the second facial feature sets; and,
where the second facial feature set matches the first facial feature set, a message that includes the name of a person and an indication of Zx is sent to interested recipients indicated by the case group.
5. The biometric notification system of claim 4 wherein each case identifies a person by linking a name with a second facial feature set and a case location alert, the case location alert matching Zx.
6. A biometric notification system (“BNS”) with facial recognition for identifying persons in zones from which they are excluded:
plural fixed digital video cameras (C 1 . . . Cn) for monitoring monitor respective zones (Z 1 . . . Zn) and a network that interconnects the video cameras with a data processing system including a processing facility and a database facility;
a video frame acquired by camera Cx in zone Zx, the video frame including a first content from which a first facial feature set can be derived; and,
where some persons are not excluded from Zx, a database of the database facility limited to plural cases of persons excluded from Zx during a particular time frame, each case in the database identifying a person by linking a name with a second facial feature set;
wherein during the particular time frame, a comparison of the first and second facial feature sets that produces a match causes a message to be sent to a receiving device, the message including the person named in the matched case and Zx.
7. A biometric notification system (“BNS”) with facial recognition for identifying persons in zones from which they are not excluded:
plural digital video cameras (C 1 . . . Cn) for monitoring monitor respective zones (Z 1 . . . Zn) and a network that interconnects the video cameras with a data processing system including a processing facility and a database facility;
a video frame acquired by camera Cx in zone Zx, the video frame including a first content from which a first facial feature set can be derived; and,
where some persons are excluded from Zx, a database of the database facility limited to plural cases of persons not excluded from Zx during a particular time frame, each case in the database identifying a person by linking a name with a second facial feature set;
wherein during the particular time frame, a comparison of the first and second facial feature sets that fails to produce a match causes a message to be sent to a receiving device, the message including the person named in the unmatched case and Zx.
