Abstract

In some implementations, a system includes a bed having a mattress. The system further includes a sensor configured to generate pressure data of the mattress. The system further includes a processor device configured to receive the pressure data; and determine a user state from at least the pressure data. The system further includes a user-interface device comprising user-interface hardware that is capable of providing user interfaces, the user-interface device configured to select, from a plurality of available user interfaces, a selected user interface; and providing the selected user interface to a user. Other systems, methods, devices, products, and software may be used.

Claims (55)

1. A system comprising:

a bed having a mattress;

a sensor configured to generate sensor data of the mattress;

a processor device configured to:

receive the sensor data; and

determine a user state from at least the sensor data; and

a user-interface device comprising user-interface hardware that is configured to provide a plurality of user interfaces for an application, the user-interface device configured to:

automatically select, from the plurality of user interfaces, a selected user interface based on the user state as determined from at least the sensor data; and

provide the selected user interface to a user;

wherein, upon the application being launched on the user-interface device, the application launches automatically and directly into the selected user interface without requiring any user input:

wherein:

when the user state indicates that the user is in the bed, the selected user interface is a bed-control user interface; and

when the user state indicates that the user is not in the bed the selected user interface is a sleep-data user interface;

wherein the processor device is further configured to:

detect one or more biometric values of the user;

determine whether at least one of the one or more biometric values is unexpected; and

based on the determination that the at least one of the one or more biometric values is unexpected, select, from the plurality of user interfaces, a biometric user interface to display corresponding with the at least one unexpected biometric values.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein:

to determine the user state, the processor device is configured to determine a presence of the user in the bed; and

the user-interface device is further configured to select the selected user interface, based on the presence of the user in the bed, from a group consisting of the bed-control user interface and the sleep-data user interface.

3. The system of claim 1 , wherein:

to determine the user state, the processor device is configured to determine a presence of the user in the bed and a time; and

the user-interface device is configured to select the selected user interface, based on the presence of the user in the bed and the time, from a group consisting of the bed-control user interface, a wakeup user interface, and the sleep-data user interface.

4. The system of claim 3 , wherein, responsive to selecting the wakeup user interface, the user-interface device is further configured to send, to a peripheral controller, an instruction to engage a peripheral device.

5. The system of claim 1 , wherein:

the user-interface device is configured to select the selected user interface, based on the one or more biometric values and a presence of the user in the bed, from a group consisting of the biometric user interface, the bed-control user interface and the sleep-data user interface.

6. The system of claim 1 , wherein:

the user-interface device is further configured to:

select, from a plurality of available peripheral actions, a selected peripheral action;

send, to a peripheral controller, an instruction based on the selected peripheral action; and

wherein the peripheral controller comprises a second processor and computer memory, and the peripheral controller is configured to engage a peripheral device according to the selected peripheral action.

7. The system of claim 1 , wherein:

the sensor includes at least one of a peripheral sensor configured to generate peripheral data and a pressure sensor configured to generate pressure data; and

wherein the processor device is further configured to receive the at least one of the peripheral data and the pressure data; and

wherein the user state is determined from the at least one of the peripheral data and the pressure data.

8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the selected user interface comprises a Graphic User Interface (GUI) element.

9. The system of claim 1 , wherein the selected user interface comprises an audible output and a voice-based input.

10. The system of claim 1 , wherein the selected user interface is the bed-control user interface when a current time is not within a wakeup time window and the user state indicates that the user is in the bed.

11. The system of claim 1 , wherein the selected user interface is a wakeup user interface, when a current time is within a wakeup time window.

12. The system of claim 1 , wherein:

the bed-control user interface includes control user interface elements to adjust the bed; and

the sleep-data user interface includes data user interface elements showing sleep data for the user.

13. A system comprising:

one or more processors;

computer memory storing instructions which, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the system to:

receive sensor data generated by a sensor of a bed having a mattress;

determine, from at least the sensor data, whether a user is in a first user state, a second user state, or a third user state;

provide the first, second or third user state to a user-interface device, where the user-interface device is configured to:

automatically select, from a plurality of user interfaces for an application, a first user interface based on the first user state;

automatically select, from the plurality of user interfaces for the application, a second user interface based on the second user state;

automatically select, from the plurality of user interfaces for the application, a third user interface based on the third user state; and

wherein, upon a launch of the application on the user-interface device, automatically and directly display, without requiring any user input, the first user interface when the user is in the first user state, display the second user interface when the user is in the second user state, and display the third user interface when the user is in the third user state;

wherein the determining whether the user is in a first user state comprises determining a presence of the user in the bed, and the selecting the first user interface comprises selecting a bed-control user interface;

wherein the determining whether the user is in the second user state comprises determining an absence of the user in the bed, and the selecting the second user interface comprises selecting a sleep-data user interface; and

wherein the determining whether the user is in the third user state comprises determining whether at least one of one or more biometric values of the user detected by the sensor is unexpected, and the selecting the third user interface comprises selecting a biometric user interface that corresponds to the at least one unexpected biometric value.
