Abstract

The efficiency of wireless communication is improved. A communication system includes a first information processing apparatus and a second information processing apparatus. The first information processing apparatus controls to determine an information amount to be used for a receipt acknowledgment response to packets to be transmitted to a second information processing apparatus on the basis of information relating to the packets and notifies the second information processing apparatus of that determined information amount. The second information processing apparatus controls to return the receipt acknowledgment response to the packets transmitted from the first information processing apparatus to the first information processing apparatus on the basis of the information amount notified from the first information processing apparatus.

Claims (40)

1. An information processing apparatus comprising:

a control circuit configured to determine an information amount of a first size to be used for a receipt acknowledgment response to packets to be transmitted on the basis of information relating to the packets;

a transmitting circuit configured to transmit a request signal including the information amount of the first size to another information processing apparatus; and

a receiving circuit configured to receive a response signal including an information amount of a second size, smaller than or equal to the first size, from the another information processing apparatus,

on condition that the request signal has been transmitted and the response signal has been received, the transmitting circuit is configured to transmit a data frame to the another information processing apparatus.

The information processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the information relating to the packets to be transmitted is the number of the packets to be transmitted or a length from a start sequence numeral to an end sequence numeral among sequence numerals corresponding to the packets to be transmitted.

3. The information processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the packets to be transmitted are packets that have not been successfully transmitted to the another information processing apparatus as a transmission destination of the packets.

The information processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the control circuit is configured to concatenate packets in agreement with the determined information amount among the packets to be transmitted and transmit the concatenated packets to the another information processing apparatus as a transmission destination.

The information processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the control circuit is configured to concatenate the packets to be transmitted in the data frame and transmit the concatenated packets to the another information processing apparatus, while determining a third size of a bitmap of a Block ACK to be returned to the information processing apparatus by the another information processing apparatus as the information amount.

The information processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the control circuit is configured to concatenate packers to be transmitted in the data frame and determine a third size of an information amount for packets concatenated as the second size, and the transmitting circuit is to transmit the concatenated packets to the another information processing apparatus.

The information processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the control circuit is configured to include the determined information amount into one of an ADDBA Request, a data frame, a Block ACK Request, and at least one of a plurality of frames in a concatenated frame in which the plurality of frames are concatenated.

The information processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein, in a case where the information amount of the second size is different from the information amount of the second size, the control circuit is configured to newly determine the second size as the information amount to be used for the receipt acknowledgment response.

The information processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the control circuit is configured to determine the information amount for packets concatenated in the data frame each time the packets are transmitted to an another information processing apparatus as a transmission destination and notify the another information processing apparatus of the determined information amount.

10. The information processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the receiving circuit is configured to receive an acknowledgement response from the another information processing apparatus in response to the data frame.

The information processing apparatus according to claim 10 , wherein, in a case where the receipt acknowledgment response that is compressed is received from the another information processing apparatus, the control circuit is configured to acquire contents of the compressed receipt acknowledgment response that has been received on the basis of the determined information amount.

12. An information processing apparatus comprising:

a control circuit configured to determine an information amount of a first size to be used for a receipt acknowledgment response to packets transmitted from another information processing apparatus as a transmission source of the packets on the basis of an information amount to be used for the receipt acknowledgment response to the packets notified from the another information processing apparatus;

a receiving circuit configured to receive a request signal including an information amount of a second size, greater than or equal to the first size, from the another information processing apparatus; and

a transmitting circuit configured to transmit a response signal including the information amount of the first size to the another information processing apparatus; and

on condition that the request signal has been received and the response signal has been transmitted, the receiving circuit is configured to receive a data frame from the another information processing apparatus.

The information processing apparatus according to claim 12 , wherein, in a case where the information amount of the second size notified from the another information processing apparatus exceeds information amount of the first size, the transmitting circuit is configured to transmit the information amount of the first size to the another information processing apparatus.

14. A communication system comprising:

a first information processing apparatus according to claim 1 ; and

the another information processing apparatus is a second information processing apparatus including

a second control circuit configured to determine an information amount of the second size to be used for a receipt acknowledgment response to packets transmitted from the first information processing apparatus;

a second receiving circuit configured to receive the request signal including the information amount of the first size from the first information processing apparatus; and

a second transmitting circuit configured to transmit the response signal including the information amount of the second size to the first information processing apparatus.

15. The information processing apparatus according to claim 12 , wherein the transmitting circuit is configured to transmit an acknowledgement response to the another information processing apparatus in response to the data frame.

16. An information processing method for a first information processing apparatus, comprising:

determining an information amount to be used for a receipt acknowledgment response to packets to be transmitted on the basis of information relating to the packets;

transmitting a request signal including the information amount of the first size to a second information processing apparatus; and

receiving a response signal including an information amount of a second size, smaller than or equal to the first size, from the second information processing apparatus,

on condition that the request signal has been transmitted and the response signal has been received, transmitting a data frame to the second information processing apparatus.

17. The information processing method according to claim 16 , further comprising receiving an acknowledgement response from the second information processing apparatus in response to the data frame.

18. A non-transitory computer readable storage device having computer readable instructions that when executed by circuitry cause the circuitry to:

determine an information amount to be used for a receipt acknowledgment response to packets to be transmitted by a first information processing apparatus on the basis of information relating to the packets;

transmit a request signal including the information amount of the first size to a second information processing apparatus; and

receive a response signal including an information amount of a second size, smaller than or equal to the first size, from the second information processing apparatus,

on condition that the request signal has been transmitted and the response signal has been received, transmit a data frame to the second information processing apparatus.

19. The non-transitory computer readable storage device according to claim 18 , wherein the circuitry is further to receive an acknowledgement response from the second information processing apparatus in response to the data frame.
