Peptide and method for using same
View Patent ↗Provided is a method for selecting arsenic-containing minerals. A peptide comprising an amino acids sequence according to the following formula: (T,S,N,Q)-(L,I,V,F,A)-(E,D)-(R,K,N,M,D,C,P,Q,S,E,T,G,W,H,Y)-(L,I,V,F,A)-(R,K,N,M,D,C,P,Q,S,E,T,G,W,H,Y)-(L,I,V,F,A)-(L,I,V,F,A)-(L,I,V,F,A)-(R,H,K)-(T,S,N,Q)-(T,S,N,Q) wherein one amino acid is respectively selected from each group defined by paired parentheses.
1. A method for isolating a mineral containing arsenic from a mixture of the mineral containing arsenic and chalcopyrite, the method comprising contacting a peptide with a mineral containing arsenic to make the peptide binding to the mineral,
wherein the peptide comprises the following sequence:
(SEQ ID NO: 1)
Ser-Leu-Asp-Gly-Ala-Gly-Ala-Ala-Leu-Arg-Thr-Ser.
2. A method of claim 1 , the method comprising froth floating with use of the peptide, the froth floating comprising:
introducing the mixture;
introducing a surfactant;
introducing the peptide and/or the microorganism containing the peptide as a depressant,
whereby the mineral containing arsenic is sorted to flotation tailings and the chalcopyrite is sorted to concentrate in the presence of the surfactant.
