Abstract

Systems, methods and non-transitory computer readable media for detecting identified information in privacy firewalls are provided. A repeating field in a data collection may be analyzed to determine whether the field is likely to include information that identifies particular individuals. An access request of a user may be received. A permission record associated with the user may be accessed. In response to the field being likely to include information that identifies particular individuals and a first value in the permission record, access to the field may be denied, in response to the field not being likely to include information that identifies particular individuals and the first value in the permission record, access to the field may be provided, and in response to a second value in the permission record, access to the field may be provided.

in response to a determination that the field does not include information that identifies at least one particular individual and the first value in the permission record, providing access of the user to the at least part of the content of the field in the data collection; and

in response to a second value in the permission record, providing access of the user to the at least part of the content of the field in the data collection,

wherein the content of the field in the data collection includes one or more images, and the method further comprises analyzing visual content of at least part of the one or more images to determine whether the field includes information that identifies at least one particular individual,

wherein the method further comprises:

analyzing the visual content of the at least part of the one or more images to determine whether the at least part of the one or more images includes a depiction of a face; and

in response to a determination that the at least part of the one or more images includes a depiction of a face, determining via the computing device that the field is includes information that identifies at least one particular individual.

2. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 1 , wherein receiving the access request of the user comprises:

accessing a stream of digital communication data sent by a first computing device to a second computing device; and

analyzing the stream to detect the request in the stream.

3. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 2 , wherein the analysis of the stream is performed by the second computing device.

4. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 2 , wherein the analysis of the stream is performed by a third computing device.

5. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the method further comprises searching for keywords in the content of the field in the data collection to determine whether the field includes information that identifies at least one particular individual.

6. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the method further comprises analyzing a distribution of values in the content of the field in the data collection to determine whether the field includes information that identifies at least one particular individual.

7. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the method further comprises analyzing the content of the field in the data collection using a machine learning model to determine whether the field includes information that identifies at least one particular individual.

8. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the method further comprises analyzing content of a second field in the data collection to determine whether the field includes information that identifies at least one particular individual, wherein the second field differs from the field.

9. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the method further comprises:

using the content of the field in the data collection to generate a deidentified copy of the field; and

in response to a determination that the field includes information that identifies at least one particular individual and the first value in the permission record, providing access to content of the generated de-identified copy of the field.

10. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 1 wherein the method further comprises:

analyzing the visual content of the at least part of the one or more images to determine whether the at least part of the one or more images includes a depiction of a text; and in response to a determination that the at least part of the one or more images includes a depiction of a text, determining that the field includes information that identifies at least one particular individual.

11. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the method further comprises:

analyzing the visual content of the at least part of the one or more images to determine whether the at least part of the one or more images includes a depiction of a skin mark; and

analyzing the depiction of the skin mark to determine whether the field includes information that identifies at least one particular individual.

12. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the method further comprises:

calculating a convolution of a plurality of pixels of the at least part of the one or more images;

and using the calculated convolution to determine whether the field includes information that identifies at least one particular individual.

13. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the method further comprises:

analyzing one or more pixels of the at least part of the one or more images to generate a transformed image; and

using the transformed image to determine whether the field includes information that identifies at least one particular individual.

14. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the content of the field in the data collection includes one or more audio recordings, and the method further comprises analyzing content of at least part of the one or more audio recordings to determine whether the field includes information that identifies at least one particular individual.

15. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the content of the field in the data collection includes textual information, and the method further comprises analyzing content of at least part of the textual information to determine whether the field includes information that identifies at least one particular individual.

16. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the content of the field in the data collection includes numerical data, and the method further comprises analyzing content of at least part of the numerical data to determine whether the field includes information that identifies at least one particular individual.

17. A system for detecting identified information, the system comprising:

a non-transitory memory unit; and

at least one processing unit configured to:

access a data collection to identify a repeating field in the data collection;

analyze content of the field in the data collection via a computing device to determine whether the includes information that identifies at least one

particular individual;

receive an access request of a user;

access a permission record associated with the user;

in response to a determination that the field includes information that identifies at least one particular individual and a first value in the permission record, deny access of the user to at least part of the content of the field in the data collection;

in response to a determination that the field does not include information that identifies at least one particular individual and the first value in the permission record, provide access of the user to the at least part of the content of the field in the data collection; and

in response to a second value in the permission record, provide access of the user to the at least part of the content of the field in the data collection,

wherein the content of the field in the data collection includes one or more images, and the method further comprises analyzing visual content of at least part of the one or more images to determine whether the field is includes information that identifies at least one particular individual,

wherein the method further comprises:

analyzing the visual content of the at least part of the one or more images to determine whether the at least part of the one or more images includes a depiction of a face; and

in response to a determination that the at least part of the one or more images includes a depiction of a face, determining via the computing device that the field includes information that identifies at least one particular individual.

18. A method for detecting identified information, the method comprising:

accessing a data collection to identify a repeating field in the data collection;

analyzing content of the field in the data collection via a computing device to determine whether the field includes information that identifies at least one particular individual;

receiving an access request of a user;
