Abstract

The object of the invention are compositions and medical treatment methods with an inheritable, Gram-negative, strictly anaerobic and commensal bacterium of the family Christensenellaceae belonging to an OTU (Operational Taxonomic Unit) characterized by a 16S rRNA sequence SEQ ID NO: 1 or to an OTU characterized by a 16S rRNA sequence SEQ ID NO: 2.

Claims (13)

1. A composition suitable for human administration, the composition comprising a daily unit dose of an inheritable, Gram-negative, strictly anaerobic and commensal bacterium of the family Christensenellaceae belonging to Operational Taxonomic Unit 1 (OTU 1) comprising the 16S rRNA sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1 and a daily unit dose of an inheritable, Gram-negative, strictly anaerobic and commensal bacterium of the family Christensenellaceae belonging to Operational Taxonomic Unit 2 (OTU 1) comprising the 16S rRNA sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2.

2. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the daily unit dose comprises 10 4 to 10 12 live bacterium belonging to each of the OTUs.

3. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the bacterium comprising the 16S rRNA sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1 and the bacterium comprising the 16 S rRNA sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2 are in lyophilized form.

4. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the bacterium comprising the 16S rRNA sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1 and the bacterium comprising the 16S rRNA sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2 are live or pasteurized.

5. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the composition also comprises at least one amino acid and/or at least one peptide.

6. The composition of claim 5 , wherein the at least one amino acid is selected from threonine, leucine, serine, proline, alanine, glycine, glutamine, glutamic acid, and tryptophan, and/or the at least one peptide contains at least one of said amino acids.

7. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the composition also comprises at least one probiotic and/or at least one prebiotic.

8. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the composition is in the form of powder, microencapsulated powder, capsule, capsugel, tablet, or fecal transplant.

9. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the composition is in a gastro-resistant form.

10. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the composition also comprises at least one bacterium selected from Christensenella massiliensis, Christensenella timonensis , and Christensenella minuta.

11. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the composition also comprises one or more methanogenic bacteria of the family Methanobacteriaceae, of the genus Methanobacterium, Methanobacter, Methanosphaera , and/or Methanothermobacter , and/or Methanobrevibacter smithii.

12. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the composition also comprises one or more bacteria of the family Dehalobacteriaceae, Oscillospira, Mogibacteriaceae, Ruminococcaceae, Lachinospiraceae, Bacteroidaceae, and/or Rikenellaceae, and/or of the order Clostridiales IV and XIVa; and/or Marvinbryantia formatexigens, Bacteroides thetaiotamicron, Akkermansia muciniphila, Faecalibacterium prausnitzii, Clostridium thermocellum, Ruminococcus species, Lachinospira species, and/or Clostridium species, and/or Eubacterium hallii.

13. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the composition also comprises an inheritable, Gram-negative, strictly anaerobic and commensal bacterium of the family Christensenellaceae belonging to an OTU comprising a 16S rRNA sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO: 3, SEQ ID NO: 4, SEQ ID NO: 5, SEQ ID NO: 6, SEQ ID NO: 7, SEQ ID NO: 8, SEQ ID NO: 9, SEQ ID NO: 10, SEQ ID NO: 11, SEQ ID NO: 12, SEQ ID NO: 13, SEQ ID NO: 14, SEQ ID NO: 15, and any combination thereof.
