Abstract

A base station and a method for use by a base station for receiving, from a network controller using an interface for communication between the base station and the network controller, a wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) information transfer message, wherein the WTRU information transfer message includes uplink physical channel support information, frequency division duplex (FDD) and time division duplex (TDD) parameters including TDD specific parameters, hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) information, supported modulation scheme information, shared channel information, and based on the received WTRU information transfer message, transmitting information to the WTRU to control at least uplink transmissions of the WTRU.

Claims (25)

1. A method for use by a base station, the method comprising:

receiving, from a network controller using an interface for communication between the base station and the network controller, a wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) information transfer message, wherein the WTRU information transfer message includes uplink physical channel support information, frequency division duplex (FDD) and time division duplex (TDD) parameters including TDD specific parameters, hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) information, supported modulation scheme information, and shared channel information; and

based on the received WTRU information transfer message, transmitting information to the WTRU to control at least uplink transmissions of the WTRU.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the WTRU information transfer message includes TDD specific power information and TDD specific modulation information.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the WTRU information transfer message includes simultaneous reception support information.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the WTRU information transfer message includes periodicity of time intervals support information.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the WTRU information transfer message includes WTRU class information.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the WTRU information transfer message includes memory size limitation information.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the WTRU information transfer message includes data rate information.

8. The method of claim 1 , further comprising transmitting a signal to obtain the WTRU information transfer message to the network controller using the interface and the receiving of the WTRU information transfer message based on the signal.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein WTRU specific information is received by the network controller from a base station.

10. A base station comprising:

a transmitter and a receiver, wherein the transmitter and the receiver are configured to cause the base station to:

receive, from a network controller using an interface for communication between the base station and the network controller, a wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) information transfer message, wherein the WTRU information transfer message includes uplink physical channel support information, frequency division duplex (FDD) and time division duplex (TDD) parameters including TDD specific parameters, hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) information, supported modulation scheme information, and shared channel information; and

based on the received WTRU information transfer message, transmit information to the WTRU to control at least uplink transmissions of the WTRU.

11. The base station of claim 10 , wherein the WTRU information transfer message includes TDD specific power information and TDD specific modulation information.

12. The base station of claim 10 , wherein the WTRU information transfer message includes simultaneous reception support information.

13. The base station of claim 10 , wherein the WTRU information transfer message includes periodicity of time intervals support information.

14. The base station of claim 10 , wherein the WTRU information transfer message includes WTRU class information.

15. The base station of claim 10 , wherein the WTRU information transfer message includes memory size limitation information.

16. The base station of claim 10 , wherein the WTRU information transfer message includes data rate information.

17. The base station of claim 10 , wherein the transmitter and the receiver are configured to cause the base station to:

transmit a signal to obtain the WTRU information transfer message to the network controller using the interface; and

receive the WTRU information transfer message based on the signal.

18. The base station of claim 10 , wherein WTRU specific information is received by the network controller from a base station.
