Abstract

Disclosed herein are systems and methods for population of online forms based on semantic and context search. In an embodiment, a system receives a query associated with a user. The system uses a first portion of text elements in the query to select a semantic ontology and to determine a requested output type of semantic object. The system identifies semantic objects of the requested output type in a data store. The system uses a second portion of the text elements in the query to identify contextual information associated with the requested output type, and uses the contextual information to retrieve knowledge-graph data associated with the user. The system filters the identified semantic objects based on the knowledge-graph data, and presents the results. The system receives a selection of a presented result, and enters the retrieved knowledge-graph data according to the selected semantic ontology into an associated fillable online form.

receiving a user selection of a presented result of the search query, the presented result being associated with a fillable online form that is encoded with the selected semantic ontology, and responsively entering the knowledge-graph data into the form in accordance with the selected semantic ontology.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein identifying the first and second portions of the set of text elements comprises using natural language processing (NLP) to identify the first and second portions of the set of text elements.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein using the first portion of the set of text elements to select the semantic ontology for the search query from among the plurality of semantic ontologies comprises matching the identified first portion of the set of text elements of the search query to a set of semantic objects in the selected semantic ontology.

4. The method of claim 3 , wherein matching the identified first portion of the set of text elements of the search query to the set of semantic objects in the selected semantic ontology comprises querying the selected semantic ontology for a semantic object that corresponds to a text element in the identified first portion of the set of text elements.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the data store was populated with semantic objects of the requested output type in response to receiving the search query.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the data store was populated with semantic objects of the requested output type periodically according to a predetermined schedule.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the identified contextual information indicates a geographic restriction for semantic objects of the requested output type.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the identified contextual information indicates a relationship restriction for semantic objects of the requested output type.

9. A system comprising:

at least one processor; and

a storage device comprising instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to perform operations comprising:

receiving, from a requesting computing device, a search query associated with a user, the search query including a set of text elements;

identifying first and second portions of the set of text elements, wherein at least one text element in the set of text elements is in both the first portion and the second portion of the set of text elements;

using the first portion of the set of text elements to select a semantic ontology for the search query from among a plurality of semantic ontologies;

determining a requested output type of semantic object being requested by the search query based on the first portion of the set of text elements and the selected semantic ontology;

identifying, in a data store, a plurality of semantic objects of the requested output type, the data store having been populated by indexing websites that comprise markup language elements that are encoded with semantic tags according to the selected semantic ontology, the markup language elements corresponding to the plurality of semantic objects, the identifying of the plurality of semantic objects of the requested output type comprising querying the data store for semantic objects that match the requested output type;

using the second portion of the set of text elements to identify contextual information associated with the requested output type of semantic object;

using the identified contextual information to retrieve knowledge-graph data from a knowledge graph associated with the user; filtering the plurality of semantic objects of the requested output type based on the knowledge-graph data;

presenting the filtered plurality of semantic objects as results of the search query, the presenting of the filtered plurality of semantic objects comprising transmitting, to the requesting computing device, a uniform resource identifier (URI) for at least one semantic object in the filtered plurality of semantic objects, the URI corresponding to a website from which the at least one semantic object in the filtered plurality of semantic objects was populated to the data store; and

receiving a user selection of a presented result of the search query, the presented result being associated with a fillable online form that is encoded with the selected semantic ontology, and responsively entering the knowledge-graph data into the form in accordance with the selected semantic ontology.
