Abstract

Provided are a method for performing a random access process in an unlicensed band, and a device using the same. The device receives a random access preamble (RAP) order instructing the transmission of a RAP. The device performs a clear channel assessment (CCA) in an unlicensed cell during an RAP window so as to transmit the RAP when the device succeeds in CCA.

Claims (38)

1. A method for performing a random access in an unlicensed band, the method performed by a wireless device and comprising:

transmitting a random access preamble to a base station;

receiving a random access response as a response to the random access preamble from the base station, wherein the random access response includes an uplink resource allocation assigned to a transmission of a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH), a timing advance command (TAC) to be applied to the transmission of the PUSCH and a listen before talk (LBT) parameter to be applied to a LBT operation for the transmission of the PUSCH;

sensing a channel based on the LBT parameter before transmitting the PUSCH; and

transmitting the PUSCH based on a predefined hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process identifier to the base station,

wherein

based on the LBT parameter being related to a first LBT scheme, the PUSCH is transmitted after the channel is sensed to be idle for a predefined time, and

based on the LBT parameter being related to a second LBT scheme, the PUSCH is transmitted after the channel is sensed to be idle for a channel detection time which is randomly selected by the wireless device.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the predefined HARQ process identifier is set to zero.

3. A device comprising:

a processor; and

a memory operatively coupled with the processor and storing instructions that when executed by the processor cause the device to:

transmit a random access preamble to a base station;

receive a random access response as a response to the random access preamble from the base station, wherein the random access response includes an uplink resource allocation assigned to a transmission of a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH), a timing advance command (TAC) to be applied to the transmission of the PUSCH and a listen before talk (LBT) parameter to be applied to a LBT operation for the transmission of the PUSCH;

sense a channel based on the LBT parameter before transmitting the PUSCH; and

transmit the PUSCH based on a predefined hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process identifier to the base station,

wherein

based on the LBT parameter being related to a first LBT scheme, the PUSCH is transmitted after the channel is sensed to be idle for a predefined time, and

based on the LBT parameter being related to a second LBT scheme, the PUSCH is transmitted after the channel is sensed to be idle for a channel detection time which is randomly selected by the device.

4. The device of claim 3 , wherein the predefined HARQ process identifier is set to zero.

5. A method for performing a random access in an unlicensed band, the method performed by a base station and comprising:

receiving a random access preamble from a wireless device;

transmitting a random access response as a response to the random access preamble to the wireless device, wherein the random access response includes an uplink resource allocation assigned to a transmission of a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH), a timing advance command (TAC) to be applied to the transmission of the PUSCH and a listen before talk (LBT) parameter to be applied to a LBT operation for the transmission of the PUSCH; and

receiving the PUSCH based on a predefined hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process identifier from the wireless device,

wherein

based on the LBT parameter being related to a first LBT scheme, the base station instructs the wireless device to transmit the PUSCH after a channel is sensed to be idle for a predefined time, and

based on the LBT parameter being related to a second LBT scheme, the base station instructs the wireless device to transmit the PUSCH after a channel is sensed to be idle for a channel detection time which is randomly selected by the wireless device.

6. The method of claim 5 , wherein the predefined HARQ process identifier is set to zero.

7. A device base station comprising:

a processor; and

a memory operatively coupled with the processor and storing instructions that when executed by the processor cause the base station to:

receive a random access preamble from a wireless device;

transmit a random access response as a response to the random access preamble to the wireless device, wherein the random access response includes an uplink resource allocation assigned to a transmission of a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH), a timing advance command (TAC) to be applied to the transmission of the PUSCH and a listen before talk (LBT) parameter to be applied to a LBT operation for the transmission of the PUSCH; and

receive the PUSCH based on a predefined hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process identifier from the wireless device,

wherein

based on the LBT parameter being related to a first LBT scheme, the base station instructs the wireless device to transmit the PUSCH after a channel is sensed to be idle for a predefined time, and

based on the LBT parameter being related to a second LBT scheme, the base station instructs the wireless device to transmit the PUSCH after a channel is sensed to be idle for a channel detection time which is randomly selected by the wireless device.

8. The base station of claim 7 , wherein the predefined HARQ process identifier is set to zero.
