Abstract

A system for establishing a primary function display for an electrical vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. The system further includes a plurality of sensors that detects at least a metric and generates at least a datum based on the at least a metric. Specifically, state of charge is at least generated based on the performance metric of an energy source. The system further includes a display to show the at least a datum. The system further includes a controller that receives the at least a datum and generates a visual to the pilot.

Claims (27)

1. A system for establishing a primary function display for an electrical vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, the system comprising:

a plurality of sensors onboard the electric aircraft, the plurality of sensors configured to:

detect at least a metric, wherein the at least a metric includes a performance metric of an energy source;

generate at least a datum based on the at least a metric, wherein the at least a datum includes a state of charge based on the performance metric;

a display configured to display the at least a datum; and

a controller configured to:

receive the at least a datum; and

generate a visual output at the display based on the at least a datum, wherein the visual output includes the state of charge.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the electric aircraft is powered by an energy source.

3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of sensors further includes a temperature sensor.

4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of sensors further includes a pressure sensor.

5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of sensors further includes a torque sensor.

6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of sensors further includes a revolutions per minute (RPM) sensor.

7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of sensors further includes a geospatial sensor.

8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the sensors include a sensor suite.

9. The system of claim 1 , wherein the sensor is further configured to determine a battery temperature.

10. The system of claim 1 , wherein the sensor is further configured to detect gas.

11. The system of claim 1 , wherein the sensor is further configured to determine a stator temperature.

12. The system of claim 1 , wherein the sensor is further configured to determine an orientation of the eVTOL relative to any suitable reference frame or point, including ground, gravity vector, etc.

13. The system of claim 1 , wherein the sensor is further configured to determine a position of the eVTOL.

14. The system of claim 1 , wherein the sensor is further configured to determine a velocity of the eVTOL.

15. The system of claim 1 , wherein the display is further configured to select different a default visual output of a plurality visual output candidates.

16. The system of claim 14 , wherein the visual output is based on a machine-learning model to choose a default display.

17. The system of claim 14 , wherein the pilot can override the visual output.

18. The system of claim 1 , wherein the display shows an alert to the pilot.

19. The system of claim 16 , wherein the alert is further configured to send a haptic alert.

20. The system of claim 1 , wherein the controller is further configured to calculate power-production capabilities.
