Abstract

A slide gate includes a gate body defining a first gate face and a second gate face; and an integral gate seal integrally formed with the first gate face, the integral gate seal comprising an additive material additively deposited on the first gate face, the integral gate seal defining a gate seating face.

Claims (27)

1. A slide gate comprising:

a gate body defining a first gate face and a second gate face; and

an integral gate seal integrally formed with the first gate face, the integral gate seal comprising an additive material additively deposited on the first gate face, the integral gate seal defining a gate seating face;

wherein:

the integral gate seal comprises a first gate seal segment and a second gate seal segment parallel to the first gate seal segment, the first gate seal segment arranged proximate to a first lateral side of the gate body and the second gate seal segment arranged proximate to a second lateral side of the gate body; and

the integral gate seal further comprises a lateral gate seal segment extending between the first and second gate seal segments, the lateral gate seal segment arranged proximate to an upper end of the gate body.

2. The slide gate of claim 1 , wherein each of the first gate seal segment and the second gate seal segment extends from the upper end of the gate body to a lower end of the gate body, and wherein the integral gate seal substantially defines an H-shape.

3. The slide gate of claim 1 , wherein:

the first gate face of the gate body defines a plurality of gate rough regions formed at target locations on the first gate face;

the plurality of gate rough regions comprise a first gate rough region proximate to the first lateral side and a second gate rough region proximate to the second lateral side; and

the first gate seal segment is integrally formed with the first gate face at the first gate rough region and the second gate seal segment is integrally formed with the first gate face at the second gate rough region.

The slide gate of claim 3 , wherein the plurality of gate rough regions further comprise a lateral gate rough region proximate to the upper end of the gate body, the lateral gate rough region extending between the first gate rough region and second gate rough region, the integral gate seal further comprising the lateral gate seal segment integrally formed with the first gate face at the lateral gate rough region.

5. The slide gate of claim 1 , wherein the additive material comprises a metal material.

6. The slide gate of claim 5 , wherein the integral gate seal comprises bronze and the gate body comprises cast iron.

7. The slide gate of claim 1 , further comprising at least one reinforcement rib extending from the second gate face.

8. A slide gate comprising:

a gate body defining a first gate face and a second gate face; and

an integral gate seal integrally formed with the first gate face, the integral gate seal comprising an additive material additively deposited on the first gate face, the integral gate seal defining a gate seating face;

wherein:

the integral gate seal comprises a first gate seal segment and a second gate seal segment parallel to the first gate seal segment, the first gate seal segment arranged proximate to a first lateral side of the gate body and the second gate seal segment arranged proximate to a second lateral side of the gate body;

the first gate face of the gate body defines a plurality of gate rough regions formed at target locations on the first gate face;

the plurality of gate rough regions comprise a first gate rough region proximate to the first lateral side and a second gate rough region proximate to the second lateral side;

the first gate seal segment is integrally formed with the first gate face at the first gate rough region and the second gate seal segment is integrally formed with the first gate face at the second gate rough region; and

the plurality of gate rough regions further comprise a lateral gate rough region proximate to an upper end of the gate body, the lateral gate rough region extending between the first gate rough region and second gate rough region, the integral gate seal further comprising a lateral gate seal segment integrally formed with the first gate face at the lateral gate rough region.

9. The slide gate of claim 8 , wherein the additive material comprises a metal material.

10. The slide gate of claim 9 , wherein the integral gate seal comprises bronze and the gate body comprises cast iron.

11. The slide gate of claim 8 , further comprising at least one reinforcement rib extending from the second gate face.
