Abstract

Systems and methods for full motion video search are provided. In one aspect, a method includes receiving one or more search terms. The search terms include one or more of a characterization of the amount of man-made features in a video image and a characterization of the amount of natural features in the video image. The method further includes searching a full motion video database based on the one or more search terms.

Claims (34)

1. A method of adding a video entity to a full motion video database supporting search capabilities, the method comprising:

determining a starting cell in the full motion video database; and

determining if a starting cell in the full motion video database should be split, and if so,

splitting the starting cell to create two new child cells, and

adding the video entity to one of the two new child cells,

wherein the starting cell data structure comprises a cell ID, a bounding box minimum latitude, a bounding box minimum longitude, a bounding box maximum latitude, and a bounding box maximum longitude.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the method is performed by one or more computer hardware processors configured to execute computer-executable instructions stored on a non-transitory computer storage medium.

3. The method of claim 1 , further comprising adding the video entity to the starting cell if the starting cell not full.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the starting cell structure further comprises a list of children cell ID's.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the starting cell structure further comprises a list of video entities.

6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising determining if the starting cell is full, wherein said splitting the starting cell in the full motion video database to create two new child cells is done in response to a determination that the starting cell is full.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein splitting the starting cell comprises splitting the starting cell along a split axis.

8. The method of claim 7 , wherein the split axis is along a line of latitude.

9. The method of claim 7 , wherein the split axis is along a line of longitude.

10. The method of claim 1 , further comprising moving a video entity stored in the starting cell from the starting cell to one of the new child cells.

11. A system comprising:

one or more computer processors configured to execute computer-executable instructions to cause the system to at least

determine a starting cell in the full motion video database; and

determine if a starting cell in the full motion video database should be split, and if so,

split the starting cell to create two new child cells, and

add the video entity to one of the two new child cells,

wherein the starting cell data structure comprises a cell ID, a bounding box minimum latitude, a bounding box minimum longitude, a bounding box maximum latitude, and a bounding box maximum longitude.

12. The system of claim 11 , wherein the one or more computer processors are further configured to execute computer-executable instructions to add further the video entity to the starting cell if the starting cell not full.

13. The system of claim 11 , wherein the starting cell is split along a split axis.

14. The system of claim 7 , wherein the split axis is along a line of latitude or along a line of longitude.

15. A method of adding a video entity to a full motion video database supporting search capabilities, the method comprising:

splitting a starting cell in the full motion video database to create two new child cells; and

adding the video entity to one of the two new child cells,

wherein the starting cell data structure comprises a cell ID, a bounding box minimum latitude, a bounding box minimum longitude, a bounding box maximum latitude, and a bounding box maximum longitude.

16. The method of claim 15 , further comprising determining if the starting cell is full, and wherein said splitting the starting cell in the full motion video database to create two new child cells is done in response to a determining that the starting cell is full.

17. The method of claim 15 , wherein splitting the starting cell comprises splitting the starting cell along a split axis.

18. The method of claim 17 , wherein the split axis is along a line of latitude or along a line of longitude.

19. The method of claim 15 , further comprising adding pointers to the starting cell pointing to the two new child cells.

20. The method of claim 15 , further comprising moving a video entity stored in the starting cell from the starting cell to one of the new child cells.
