Abstract

The present disclosure provides a processing method and apparatus for recovering a beam. The method includes: generating a first type of signaling when K elements in a beam related parameter set trigger one or more thresholds; and sending the first type of signaling to a second communication node, where the beam related parameter set includes Q elements, where Q and K are both positive integers, and K is less than or equal to Q. Through the present disclosure, the technical problems that a beam cannot be recovered after beam link failure, and beam and channel state information reports or beam and channel state information report requests cannot be actively initiated in a millimeter wave communication system are solved.

Claims (34)

1 . A method for wireless communication, comprising:

receiving, by a terminal device, a beam recovery configuration from a base station, wherein the beam recovery configuration configures a set of dedicated beam recovery channels;

determining, by the terminal device, that a quality of a communication link is inferior to a predefined threshold;

transmitting, by the terminal device, beam report information to the base station indicating a beam candidate by transmitting a first type of signaling in a beam recovery channel selected from the set of dedicated beam recovery channels, wherein the beam report information is represented by a time-frequency resource location occupied by the first type of signaling; and

receiving, by the terminal device, a second type of signaling from the base station in response to the beam report information.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein a length of cyclic prefix is variable in the set of dedicated beam recovery channels.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein adjacent dedicated beam recovery channels are separated by a time-domain period of T.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first type of signaling uniquely identifies the terminal device.

5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein joint uplink and downlink beam scanning is configured in the second type of signaling.

6 . A method for wireless communication, comprising:

transmitting, by a base station, a beam recovery configuration to a terminal device, wherein the beam recovery configuration configures a set of dedicated beam recovery channels;

receiving, by the base station, beam report information from the terminal device indicating a beam candidate in response to a beam failure detected by the terminal device, wherein the beam report information is represented by a time-frequency resource location occupied by a first type of signaling from the terminal device via a beam recovery channel selected from the set of dedicated beam recovery channels; and

transmitting, by the base station, a second type of signaling to the terminal device in response to the beam report information.

7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein a length of cyclic prefix is variable in the set of dedicated beam recovery channels.

8 . The method of claim 6 , wherein adjacent dedicated beam recovery channels are separated by a time-domain period of T.

9 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the first type of signaling uniquely identifies the terminal device.

10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein joint uplink and downlink beam scanning is configured in the second type of signaling.

11 . A device for wireless communication, comprising a processor that is configured to:

receive a beam recovery configuration from a base station, wherein the beam recovery configuration a set of dedicated beam recovery channels;

determine that a quality of a communication link is inferior to a predefined threshold;

transmit beam report information to the base station indicating a beam candidate by transmitting a first type of signaling in a beam recovery channel selected from the set of dedicated beam recovery channels, wherein the beam report information is represented by a time-frequency resource location occupied by the first type of signaling; and

receive a second type of signaling from the base station in response to the beam report information.

12 . The device of claim 11 , wherein a length of cyclic prefix is variable in the set of dedicated beam recovery channels.

13 . The device of claim 11 , wherein adjacent dedicated beam recovery channels are separated by a time-domain period of T.

14 . The device of claim 11 , wherein the first type of signaling uniquely identifies the terminal device.

15 . The device of claim 14 , wherein joint uplink and downlink beam scanning is configured in the second type of signaling.

16 . A device for wireless communication, comprising a processor that is configured to:

transmit a beam recovery configuration to a terminal device, wherein the beam recovery configuration configures a set of dedicated beam recovery channels;

receive beam report information from the terminal device indicating a beam candidate in response to a beam failure detected by the terminal device, wherein the beam report information is represented by a time-frequency resource location occupied by a first type of signaling from the terminal device via a beam recovery channel selected from the set of dedicated beam recovery channels; and

transmit a second type of signaling to the terminal device in response to the beam report information.

17 . The device of claim 16 , wherein a length of cyclic prefix is variable in the set of dedicated beam recovery channels.

18 . The device of claim 16 , wherein adjacent dedicated beam recovery channels are separated by a time-domain period of T.

19 . The device of claim 16 , wherein the first type of signaling uniquely identifies the terminal device.
