Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a pre-5 th -Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates Beyond 4 th -Generation (4G) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). The embodiments of the present invention provide methods and devices for network access. The method includes receiving a first request message forwarded by a distributed unit in a base station and indication information of the distributed unit with respect to the first request message, the first request message requesting to connect a user equipment to a network; determining a processing to be performed on the first request message based on the indication Information; and transmitting an indication of the determined processing to the distributed unit.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the message is associated with a user plane.

5. The method of claim 1 ,

wherein the radio link status further includes a radio link outage and a radio link resume, and

wherein the method further comprises:

in case that the status information indicates the radio link outage, identifying that both of an UL transmission and a DL transmission on the radio bearer is not available at the DU node; and

in case that the status information indicates the radio link resume, identifying that both of an UL transmission and a DL transmission on the radio bearer is available at the DU node.

6. A method performed by a distributed unit (DU) node, the method comprising:

generating status information of a radio bearer, wherein the status information indicates one of radio link status including an uplink (UL) radio link outage, a downlink (DL) radio link outage, a UL radio link resume, and a DL radio link resume; and

transmitting, to a central unit (CU) node, a message including the status information,

wherein the UL radio link outage is used to inform the CU that an UL transmission on the radio bearer is not available at the DU node,

wherein the DL radio link outage is used to inform the CU that a DL transmission on the radio bearer is not available at the DU node,

wherein the UL radio link resume is used to inform the CU that an UL transmission on the radio bearer is available at the DU node, and

wherein the DL radio link resume is used to inform the CU that a DL transmission on the radio bearer is available at the DU node.

7. The method of claim 6 , further comprising:

receiving, from the CU node, a UE context modification request message including identification information of the radio bearer.

8. The method of claim 6 ,

wherein the CU node is associated with a radio resource control (RRC), packet data convergence protocol (PDCP), and a service data adaptation protocol (SDAP), and

wherein the DU node is associated with a radio link control (RLC) layer, a medium access control (MAC) layer, and a physical (PHY) layer.

9. The method of claim 6 , wherein the message is associated with a user plane.

10. The method of claim 6 ,

wherein the radio link status further includes a radio link outage and a radio link resume,

wherein the radio link outage is used to inform the CU that both of an UL transmission and a DL transmission on the radio bearer is available at the DU node, and

wherein the radio link resume is used to inform the CU that both of an UL transmission and a DL transmission on the radio bearer is available at the DU node.

11. An apparatus of a central unit (CU) node, comprising:

at least one transceiver; and

at least one processor configured to:

control the at least one transceiver to receive, from a distributed unit (DU) node, a message including status information of a radio bearer, wherein the status information indicates one of radio link status including an uplink (UL) radio link outage, a downlink (DL) radio link outage, a UL radio link resume, and a DL radio link resume,

in case that the status information indicates the UL radio link outage, identify that an UL transmission on the radio bearer is not available at the DU node,

in case that the status information indicates the DL radio link outage, identify that a DL transmission on the radio bearer is not available at the DU node,

in case that the status information indicates the UL radio link resume, identify that an UL transmission on the radio bearer is available at the DU node, and
