Abstract

A system and method is provided for dynamically managing advertiser affiliate links for online marketing. A global redirect server accepts a visitor's web browser request for a product or non-product webpage associated with an affiliate network advertiser URL, and returns a corresponding product or non-product webpage to the visitor that is corrected for the visitor's geographic region if such a webpage exists, or returns the originally requested webpage if it does not. The server determines the visitor's geographic region based upon request metadata, and can generate a corrected webpage that affords analytic and commission tracking even if no corresponding affiliate network exists in the determined geographic region. The server includes a database for locating products within the determined geographic region that are comparable to the product of the product webpage request, in the event that the exact product is not available in the geographic region.

Claims (69)

1. A system for dynamic affiliate network advertiser link creation, the system comprising:

a database including at least one affiliate exemplary syntax; and

a server in network communication with the database and a web browser on a processor, the server configured to:

retrieve detailed product information from a publisher-identified webpage;

determine based on the detailed product information that the publisher-identified webpage is new and that no affiliate network page data exists;

receive the at least one affiliate exemplary syntax corresponding to a previous advertiser identifier parameter and a previous advertiser URL parameter;

obtain an advertiser identifier to form an advertiser identifier parameter;

obtain an advertiser affiliate webpage URL corresponding to the advertiser identifier to form an advertiser URL parameter;

form an affiliate network advertiser link based on the advertiser identifier parameter and the advertiser URL parameter;

store the affiliate network advertiser link and the detailed product information in a link generation server database record; and

provide the affiliate network advertiser link to a publisher, the affiliate network advertiser link allowing the tracking of one or more metrics associated with one or more transactions involving the affiliate network advertiser link.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein forming the affiliate network advertiser link further includes:

substituting the previous advertiser identifier parameter with the advertiser identifier; and

substituting the previous advertiser URL parameter with the advertiser URL parameter.

3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the advertiser identifier is associated with an advertiser affiliate.

4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the affiliate network advertiser link is provided to the publisher in a form of a shortened link.

5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the server is further configured to:

update a previous link generation server database record with the affiliate network advertiser link.

6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the server is further configured to:

scrape the publisher identified webpage for metadata; and

update a previous link generation server database record corresponding to the affiliate network advertiser link with the metadata.

7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the server is further configured to:

receive an exemplary affiliate network advertiser link, wherein the exemplary affiliate network advertiser link includes a received affiliate network URL, at least one received advertiser identifier, at least one received redirect variable, and at least one received advertiser webpage URL;

record the exemplary affiliate network advertiser link, the received affiliate network URL, and the at least one received redirect variable; and

parse the received affiliate network URL to isolate an exemplary advertiser identifier parameter and an exemplary advertiser URL parameter for subsequent substitution.

8. The system of claim 7 , wherein the server is further configured to:

retrieve a publisher identifier corresponding to publisher account information; and

append the publisher identifier to the exemplary advertiser URL parameter.

9. A computer-implemented method for dynamic affiliate network advertiser link creation using a server in network communication with (i) a database including at least one affiliate exemplary syntax and (ii) a web browser on a processor, the computer-implemented method comprising:

retrieving detailed product information from a publisher-identified webpage;

determining based on the detailed product information that the publisher-identified webpage is new and that no affiliate network page data exists;

receiving the at least one affiliate exemplary syntax corresponding to a previous advertiser identifier parameter and a previous advertiser URL parameter;

obtaining an advertiser identifier to form an advertiser identifier parameter;

obtaining an advertiser affiliate webpage URL corresponding to the advertiser identifier to form an advertiser URL parameter;

forming an affiliate network advertiser link based on the advertiser identifier parameter and the advertiser URL parameter;

storing the affiliate network advertiser link and the detailed product information in a link generation server database record; and

providing the affiliate network advertiser link to a publisher, the affiliate network advertiser link allowing tracking of one or more metrics associated with one or more transactions involving the affiliate network advertiser link.

10. The computer-implemented method of claim 9 , wherein forming the affiliate network advertiser link further includes:

substituting the previous advertiser identifier parameter with the advertiser identifier; and

substituting the previous advertiser URL parameter with the advertiser URL parameter.

11. The computer-implemented method of claim 9 , wherein the advertiser identifier is associated with an advertiser affiliate.

12. The computer-implemented method of claim 9 , wherein the affiliate network advertiser link is provided to the publisher in a form of a shortened link.

13. The computer-implemented method of claim 9 further comprising:

updating a previous link generation server database record with the affiliate network advertiser link.

14. The computer-implemented method of claim 9 further comprising:

scraping the publisher identified webpage for metadata; and

updating a previous link generation server database record corresponding to the affiliate network advertiser link with the metadata.

15. The computer-implemented method of claim 9 further comprising:

receiving an exemplary affiliate network advertiser link, wherein the exemplary affiliate network advertiser link includes a received affiliate network URL, at least one received advertiser identifier, at least one received redirect variable, and at least one received advertiser webpage URL;

recording the exemplary affiliate network advertiser link, the received affiliate network URL, and the at least one received redirect variable; and

parsing the received affiliate network URL to isolate an exemplary advertiser identifier parameter and an exemplary advertiser URL parameter for subsequent substitution.

16. The computer-implemented method of claim 15 further comprising:

retrieving a publisher identifier corresponding to publisher account information; and

appending the publisher identifier to the exemplary advertiser URL parameter.

17. A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer-executable instructions which, when executed by a server in network communication with (i) a database including at least one affiliate exemplary syntax and (ii) a web browser on a processor, cause the server to perform operations for dynamic affiliate network advertiser link creation, the operations comprising:

retrieving detailed product information from a publisher-identified webpage;

determining based on the detailed product information that the publisher-identified webpage is new and that no affiliate network page data exists;

receiving the at least one affiliate exemplary syntax corresponding to a previous advertiser identifier parameter and a previous advertiser URL parameter;

obtaining an advertiser identifier to form an advertiser identifier parameter;

obtaining an advertiser affiliate webpage URL corresponding to the advertiser identifier to form an advertiser URL parameter;

forming an affiliate network advertiser link based on the advertiser identifier parameter and the advertiser URL parameter;

storing the affiliate network advertiser link and the detailed product information in a link generation server database record; and

providing the affiliate network advertiser link to a publisher, the affiliate network advertiser link allowing tracking of one or more metrics associated with one or more transactions involving the affiliate network advertiser link.

18. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 17 , wherein forming the affiliate network advertiser link further includes:

substituting the previous advertiser identifier parameter with the advertiser identifier; and

substituting the previous advertiser URL parameter with the advertiser URL parameter.

19. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 17 , the operations further comprising:

updating a previous link generation server database record with the affiliate network advertiser link.

20. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 17 , wherein the affiliate network advertiser link is provided to the publisher in a form of a shortened link.
