Abstract

Methods and systems are presented for providing instant authentication of a product and enhanced user experience with the product via blockchain technologies. A product verification system uses blockchain technologies to track the supply chain process of each instance (e.g., each copy) of a product. Upon receiving a request for authenticating an item, a code provided with the item is scanned. A token corresponding to an instance of a product is determined based on the code. The product verification system traverses a blockchain to access data associated with the token. The item is authenticated based on the data. Additional content provided by the supply chain and/or the manufacturer of the instance of the product may be presented on a user device in response to authenticating the item.

Claims (46)

1. A system, comprising:

a non-transitory memory; and

one or more hardware processors coupled with the non-transitory memory and configured to read instructions from the non-transitory memory to cause the system to perform operations comprising:

detecting, by a product verification module and via an application of a device, an electronic interaction between the device and an instance of a product;

determining, by the product verification module, a code corresponding to the instance of the product based on the electronic interaction;

traversing, by the product verification module, a product blockchain comprising a plurality of blocks based on a token corresponding to the code, wherein the plurality of blocks includes data associated with different instances of the product;

accessing, by the product verification module and from the plurality of blocks, a set of blocks associated with the token based on the traversing;

extracting, by the product verification module, a subset of the data from the set of blocks, wherein the subset of the data comprises authentication data representing one or more previous authentication requests associated with the instance of the product;

authenticating, by an authentication module, the instance of the product based on whether the electronic interaction is in conflict with an authentication request from the one or more previous authentication requests; and

in response to authenticating the instance of the product, granting, by an authentication module, a user access to a service.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the service comprises interactive content associated with a manufacturing process of the instance of the product, and wherein the interactive content was added to the product blockchain from a server associated with a supplier of the product.

3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the service comprises providing augmented reality data associated with the instance of the product to the user.

4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the service is associated with a location of the device.

5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise:

determining a location of the device, wherein the authenticating the instance of the product is further based on the location of the device.

6. The system of claim 5 , wherein the location of the device is a first location, and wherein the operations further comprise:

determining a second location associated with the authentication request; and

determining a distance between the first location and the second location, wherein the authenticating the instance of the product is further based on the distance.

7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the service comprises content generated by a previous owner of the instance of the product, wherein the operations further comprise:

extracting a second subset of the data from the set of blocks, wherein the second subset of the data comprises the content; and

providing the user access to the content extracted from the product blockchain.

8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the service comprises information related to an alternative configuration of the product.

9. The system of claim 1 , wherein the service comprises information related to at least one of an upgraded version of the product or an auxiliary accessory associated with the product.

10. The system of claim 1 , wherein the service comprises information related to an alternative size of the product.

11. A method comprising:

detecting, by a product verification module of a computer system and via an application of a device, an electronic interaction between the device and an instance of a product;

determining, by the product verification module, a code corresponding to the instance of the product based on the electronic interaction;

traversing, by the product verification module, a product blockchain comprising a plurality of blocks based on a token corresponding to the code, wherein the plurality of blocks includes data associated with different instances of the product;

accessing, by the product verification module and from the plurality of blocks, a set of blocks associated with the token based on the traversing;

extracting, by the product verification module, a subset of the data from the set of blocks, wherein the subset of the data comprises authentication data representing one or more previous authentication requests associated with the instance of the product;

authenticating, by an authentication module, the instance of the product based on whether the electronic interaction is in conflict with the authentication data; and

in response to authenticating the instance of the product, g ranting, by an authentication module, a user access to a service.

12. The method of claim 11 , wherein the service comprises interactive content associated with a manufacturing process of the instance of the product, and wherein the interactive content was added to the product blockchain from a server associated with a supplier of the product.

13. The method of claim 11 , wherein the service comprises providing augmented reality data associated with the instance of the product to the user.

14. The method of claim 11 , wherein the service is associated with a location of the device.

15. The method of claim 11 , further comprising:

determining a location of the device, wherein the authenticating the instance of the product is further based on the location of the device.

16. The method of claim 15 , wherein the location of the device is a first location, and wherein the method further comprises:

determining a second location associated with a authentication request from the one or more previous authentication requests; and

determining a distance between the first location and the second location, wherein the authenticating the instance of the product is further based on the distance.

17. The method of claim 11 , wherein the service comprises content generated by a previous owner of the instance of the product, and wherein the method further comprises:

extracting a second subset of the data from the set of blocks, wherein the second subset of the data comprises the content; and

providing the user access to the content extracted from the product blockchain.

18. The method of claim 11 , wherein the service comprises information related to an alternative configuration of the product.

19. The method of claim 11 , wherein the service comprises information related to at least one of an upgraded version of the product or an auxiliary accessory associated with the product.

20. The method of claim 11 , wherein the interactive content service comprises information related to an alternative size of the product.
