Abstract

The disclosed technology includes a collar that can output a first corrective action having a first correction magnitude, detect feedback information, and determine a second correction magnitude based at least in part on the feedback information. The collar can output a second corrective action responsive to determining that the collar is within a predetermined distance from an adverse device. The collar can receive map data and automatically determine a first geographical area in which it is permissible for a collar to be located and/or a second geographical area in which it is impermissible for the collar to be located, the collar being related to the system.

Claims (25)

1. A non-transitory, computer-readable medium having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by one or more processors, cause a system to:

receive map data;

automatically identify one or more barriers indicated by the map data;

automatically determine, based at least in part on the one or more barriers, (i) a first geographical area in which it is permissible for a collar to be located or (ii) a second geographical area in which it is impermissible for the collar to be located; and

generate geo-fence data to define at least one of the first geographical area or the second geographical area, the collar being related to the system.

2. The non-transitory, computer-readable medium of claim 1 , wherein:

the map data comprises one or more overhead images, and identifying the one or more barriers indicated by the map data comprises

identifying the one or more barriers indicated by the one or more overhead images.

3. The non-transitory, computer-readable medium of claim 2 , wherein the one or more barriers comprises at least one of a road or a body of water.

4. The non-transitory, computer-readable medium of claim 2 , wherein the one or more barriers comprises a user-specified barrier.

5. The non-transitory, computer-readable medium of claim 2 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the system to:

determine a current location of the collar,

wherein the geo-fence data is indicative of a geo-fence surrounding the current location of the collar, the geo-fence data defining the first geographical area.

6. The non-transitory, computer-readable medium of claim 2 , wherein:

the first geographical area includes a third geographical area in which it is permissible for the collar to be located,

the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the system to:

output a first corrective action responsive to determining that the collar is located inside the third geographical area and within a first distance from a boundary of the third geographical area; and

output a second corrective action responsive to determining that the collar is located (i) inside the first geographical area, (ii) outside the third geographical area, and (iii) within a second distance from a boundary of the first geographical area.

7. The non-transitory, computer-readable medium of claim 6 , wherein the third geographical area is indicative of property lines of a residence associated with the collar.

8. The non-transitory, computer-readable medium of claim 1 , wherein:

the map data further comprises identifying data that identifies one or more objects or locations, and

automatically determining the first geographical area or the second geographical area comprises generating geo-fence data to define the first geographical area or the second geographical area based at least in part on the identifying data.

9. The non-transitory, computer-readable medium of claim 8 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the system to:

determine a current location of the collar,

wherein the geo-fence data is indicative of a geo-fence surrounding the current location of the collar, the geo-fence data defining the first geographical area.
