Abstract

A system for assembling roofing at ground level has an adjustable-length center frame separating a first assembly side from a second assembly side; a first cantilevered gantry on the first assembly side and a second cantilevered gantry on a second side, each cantilevered gantry moveable along the length of the center frame; a plurality of outrigger beams coupled to opposing ends of the center beam, each outrigger beam having a catwalk thereon; a first joist railing and a second joist railing on each assembly side, each joist railing configured to receive an end of an open web joist; and a base frame comprising a plurality of wheels. Once the roofing section has been assembled, hoisting the assembled roofing section to the top of a structure.

Claims (24)

1. A system for assembling sheathing, comprising:

a center frame comprising lower beams and having a first assembly side;

a cantilevered gantry on the first assembly side, the cantilevered gantry comprising a gantry support, the gantry support comprising lower wheels;

the lower wheels of the cantilevered gantry engaged with and moveable along at least a portion of the lower beams of the center frame;

a first outrigger beam coupled to a first end of the center frame; and

a second outrigger beam coupled to a second end of the center frame.

2. The system for assembling sheathing of claim 1 , further comprising:

a second assembly side opposite the first assembly side having a second cantilevered gantry;

the second cantilevered gantry moveable along at least a portion of the center frame;

the second assembly side comprising a first outrigger beam coupled to a first end of the center frame opposite the first outrigger beam of the first assembly side and a second outrigger beam coupled to a second end of the center frame opposite the second outrigger beam of the first assembly side.

3. The system for assembling sheathing of claim 1 , further comprising a plurality of wheels coupled to base frame members.

4. The system for assembling sheathing of claim 1 , further comprising a generator.

5. The system for assembling sheathing of claim 1 , wherein the first outrigger beam is removably couplable to the center frame.

6. The system for assembling sheathing of claim 1 , further comprising one or more motorized wheels coupled to the center frame to advance the center frame.

7. A system for assembling sheathing, comprising:

a center frame having a first assembly side and a second assembly side;

a cantilevered gantry on the first assembly side, the cantilevered gantry comprising a gantry support, the gantry support comprising lower wheels;

the cantilevered gantry moveable along at least a portion of the center frame;

a first outrigger beam coupled to a first end of the center frame;

a second outrigger beam coupled to a second end of the center frame;

the second assembly side having a second cantilevered gantry, the second cantilevered gantry comprising a second gantry support, the second gantry support comprising lower wheels;

the second cantilevered gantry moveable along at least a portion of the center frame;

the second assembly side comprising a first outrigger beam coupled to a first end of the center frame opposite the first outrigger beam of the first assembly side; and

a second outrigger beam coupled to a second end of the center frame opposite the second outrigger beam of the first assembly side.
