Abstract

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may establish an access link with a base station using one or more of a first beam or a first set of beams. The UE may therefore receive, via the access link, control signaling indicating a first configuration for a sidelink channel. In some examples, the UE may switch from the first configuration to a second configuration for the sidelink channel based on detection of an event for one or more of the first beam or the first set of beams and communicate with a second UE via the sidelink channel using the second configuration.

Claims (69)

a processor,

memory coupled with the processor; and

instructions stored in the memory and executable by the processor to cause the apparatus to:

receive, via the access link, control signaling indicating a first configuration for a sidelink;

communicate with a second UE via the sidelink in accordance with the first configuration; and

communicate with the second UE via the sidelink using a second configuration based at least in part on an event associated with the access link.

2. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the instructions are further executable by the processor to cause the apparatus to:

perform sidelink communications with the second UE using one or more sidelink resources.

3. The apparatus of claim 2 , wherein to perform the sidelink communications with the second UE using the one or more sidelink resources is based at least in part on a sidelink mode, and wherein the sidelink mode comprises a first sidelink mode associated with the first configuration or a second sidelink mode associated with the second configuration.

4. The apparatus of claim 3 , wherein the instructions are further executable by the processor to cause the apparatus to:

receive control signaling indicating an allocation of the one or more sidelink resources to use for the sidelink communications with the second UE via the sidelink based at least in part on the first sidelink mode.

5. The apparatus of claim 3 , wherein the instructions are further executable by the processor to cause the apparatus to:

perform the sidelink communications with the second UE using the one or more sidelink resources that are selected from a set of sidelink resources based at least in part on the second sidelink mode.

6. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the event is a beam failure event associated with the access link.

7. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the instructions are further executable by the processor to cause the apparatus to:

transmit a beam failure recovery request, wherein the event comprises transmitting the beam failure recovery request.

8. The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the instructions are further executable by the processor to cause the apparatus to:

switch from the second configuration to the first configuration for the sidelink based at least in part on a beam failure recovery request response.

9. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the instructions are further executable by the processor to cause the apparatus to:

detect the event on at least one of a primary cell, a primary secondary cell, or a secondary cell associated with the access link.

10. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the instructions are further executable by the processor to cause the apparatus to:

switch from the first configuration to the second configuration for the sidelink based at least in part on the event associated with the access link.

11. A method for wireless communications by a first user equipment (UE), comprising:

establishing an access link with a network entity;

receiving, via the access link, control signaling indicating a first configuration for a sidelink;

communicating with a second UE via the sidelink in accordance with the first configuration; and

communicating with the second UE via the sidelink using a second configuration based at least in part on an event associated with the access link.

12. The method of claim 11 , further comprising:

performing sidelink communications with the second UE using one or more sidelink resources.

13. The method of claim 12 , wherein to perform the sidelink communications with the second UE using the one or more sidelink resources is based at least in part on a sidelink mode, and wherein the sidelink mode comprises a first sidelink mode associated with the first configuration or a second sidelink mode associated with the second configuration.

14. The method of claim 13 , further comprising:

receiving control signaling indicating an allocation of the one or more sidelink resources to use for the sidelink communications with the second UE via the sidelink based at least in part on the first sidelink mode.

15. The method of claim 13 , further comprising:

performing the sidelink communications with the second UE using the one or more sidelink resources that are selected from a set of sidelink resources based at least in part on the second sidelink mode.

16. The method of claim 12 , wherein the event is a beam failure event associated with the access link.

17. The method of claim 12 , further comprising:

transmitting a beam failure recovery request, wherein the event comprises transmitting the beam failure recovery request.

18. The method of claim 17 , further comprising:

detecting the event on at least one of a primary cell, a primary secondary cell, or a secondary cell associated with the access link.

19. The method of claim 12 , further comprising:

detecting the event on at least one of a primary cell, a primary secondary cell, or a secondary cell associated with the access link.

20. The method of claim 11 , further comprising:

switching from the first configuration to the second configuration for the sidelink based at least in part on the event associated with the access link.

21. An apparatus for wireless communications at a first user equipment (UE), comprising:

means for establishing an access link with a network entity;

means for receiving, via the access link, control signaling indicating a first configuration for a sidelink;

means for communicating with a second UE via the sidelink in accordance with the first configuration; and

means for communicating with the second UE via the sidelink using a second configuration based at least in part on an event associated with the access link.

22. The apparatus of claim 21 , further comprising:

means for performing sidelink communications with the second UE using one or more sidelink resources.

23. The apparatus of claim 22 , wherein to perform the sidelink communications with the second UE using the one or more sidelink resources is based at least in part on a sidelink mode, and wherein the sidelink mode comprises a first sidelink mode associated with the first configuration or a second sidelink mode associated with the second configuration.
