Abstract

A wearable treatment and analysis module is provided. The module is positioned on or near a body surface region of interest. The module provides remote access to sensor data, treatment administration, and/or other health care regimens via a network connection with a user device and/or management system.

Claims (40)

1 . A system comprising:

a wearable medical article;

a module configured to be mounted to the wearable medical article, wherein the module comprises:

one or more sensors configured to generate sensor data regarding a body surface region of a wearer of the wearable medical article;

a treatment dispenser configured to administer a treatment to the body surface region; and

a wireless network interface configured to transmit the sensor data; and

a computing system comprising one or more computer processors and executable instructions, wherein the computing system is configured to:

receive the sensor data;

receive contextual data associated with the wearer; and

evaluate the sensor data and contextual data using a machine learning model to generate a score representing a current state of the body surface region.

2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein a sensor of the one or more sensors comprises: a camera sensor, a temperature sensor, a moisture sensor, a pH sensor, or a pressure sensor.

3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the computing system is further configured to train the machine learning model using training data comprising training sensor data and training contextual data, wherein the training data is associated with one or more body surface region classifications to be generated by the machine learning model.

4 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the computing system is further configured to train the machine learning model using training data comprising training sensor data and training contextual data, wherein the training data is associated with one or more state scores to be generated by the machine learning model.

5 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the module is configured to transition from a first low-profile state to a second raised-profile state.

6 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the computing system is further configured to generate output data based at least partly on the score, wherein the output data represents at least one of: a treatment instruction, a sensor instruction, or a body surface region classification.

7 . The system of claim 6 , wherein the computing system is further configured to transmit the output data to at least one of: the module, or a computing device in communication with the module.

8 . A system comprising:

a wearable medical article;

a module configured to be mounted to the wearable medical article, wherein the module comprises:

one or more sensors configured to generate sensor data regarding a body surface region of a wearer of the wearable medical article; and

a wireless network interface configured to transmit the sensor data; and

a computing system comprising one or more computer processors and executable instructions, wherein the computing system is configured to:

receive the sensor data;

receive contextual data associated with the wearer; and

evaluate the sensor data and contextual data using a machine learning model to generate a score representing a current state of the body surface region.

9 . A wearable medical module for placement over a wound, comprising:

a housing forming a receptacle having a lower opening configured to face the wound;

a camera sensor and battery sized and shaped to be disposed in the receptacle; and

a cover disposed over the lower opening and having an aperture aligned with the camera sensor so that the camera sensor has a field of view of the wound through the aperture.

10 . The module of claim 9 , further comprising a PCB supporting the camera sensor.

11 . The module of claim 9 , wherein the battery is configured to be wirelessly charged.

12 . The module of claim 9 , further comprising one or more optical element configured to apply light therapy to the wound.

13 . The module of claim 9 , further comprising one or more optical element configured for fluorescence imaging.

14 . The module of claim 9 , wherein the module is configured to transition from a first low-profile state to a second raised-profile state.

15 . The module of claim 9 , further comprising one or more legs configured to move between retracted and extended configurations.

16 . The module of claim 15 , wherein the one or more legs extend from a lower surface of the module.

17 . The module of claim 15 , wherein the one or more legs extend from an upper surface of the module.

18 . The module of claim 9 , further comprising a battery safety circuit configured to monitor wireless charging of the battery.

19 . The module of claim 9 , further comprising a negative pressure wound therapy module configured to draw fluids from within a space between the wound and a lower surface of the module to reduce pressure within the space.

20 . The module of claim 9 , further comprising a platform coupled to the housing and being configured to be secured relative to the wound.
