Control conduit for LH2 offloading
A control conduit for liquid hydrogen offloading is configured to couple a controller of a liquid hydrogen offload system to a liquid hydrogen tanker. The control conduit includes a control line and a gas detector. The control line is configured to transmit a control signal from the controller to the liquid hydrogen tanker. The gas detector is configured to detect hydrogen gas and provide a gas detector signal to the controller. The gas detector is secured to the control line at a predetermined distance from a tanker connection end of the control line.

a connector, wherein the connector is configured to secure the gas detector to the air control line, wherein the connector comprises one or more of a fastener, a shroud, a housing, or a tubing; and
a coupler at one end of the control conduit, wherein the gas detector is secured to the air control line at a predetermined distance selected from a group consisting of: less than 5 cm, less than 10 cm, less than 15 cm, less than 20 cm, less than 25 cm, less than 50 cm, less than 100 cm, less than 150 cm, and less than 200 cm from the coupler; and
coupling the control conduit to a liquid hydrogen tanker.
4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the control signal comprises a pneumatic or air pressure signal.
5. The control conduit of claim 1 , wherein the air control line is further configured to pressurize an air-pressured controlled valve.
6. The control conduit of claim 5 , wherein the controller is further configured to pressurize the air control line to control the air-pressured controlled valve to terminate liquid gas flow from the liquid hydrogen tanker in response receiving the gas detector signal from the gas detector.
7. The control conduit of claim 1 , wherein the controller is configured to receive a temperature signal from a temperature sensor with the gas detector signal to determine whether to terminate liquid gas flow from the liquid hydrogen tanker.
8. The control conduit of claim 1 , wherein the tanker connection end is configured to attach to the liquid hydrogen tanker connector to enable filling of a hydrogen storage tank.
9. The method of claim 3 , further comprising pressurizing the air control line to control an air-pressured controlled valve.
10. The method of claim 9 wherein pressurizing the air control line to control the air-pressured controlled valve comprises terminating liquid gas flow from the liquid hydrogen tanker.
11. The method of claim 3 , further comprising receiving a temperature signal from a temperature sensor with the gas detector signal to determine whether to terminate liquid gas flow from the liquid hydrogen tanker.
