Abstract

The present disclosure describes systems and methods for predicting adverse health events of patients. In one embodiment, a system obtains a dataset including a plurality of values for each of a plurality of health measurements. The system can obtain the dataset in real-time or substantially real-time after a patient has taken the plurality of health measurements. The system can also obtain metadata about the dataset. The metadata may include a measure of the patient's adherence or non-adherence to a testing routine. The measure of non-adherence may indicate, for example, the quantity of days in a particular time period that the patient failed to conduct the testing routine. The system can apply an algorithm to the dataset and the metadata to generate a risk score. The risk score may indicate the likelihood that the subject will experience an adverse health event.

Claims (27)

2 . A method for providing health alerts via a graphical user interface (GUI) of a computer system, the method comprising:

(a) periodically providing, via the GUI, a prompt to perform a testing procedure to a subject;

(b) determining, by a processor, a set of instructions for performing the testing procedure responsive to the prompt, the set of instructions based at least in part on an integration of the computer system with a plurality of health sensors;

(c) providing the set of instructions, via the GUI, to the subject;

(d) receiving data from the plurality of health sensors, the data comprising a measure of adherence to the testing procedure;

(e) automatically generating one or more predictions with one or more algorithms based at least in part on data from the plurality of health sensors; and

(f) providing a real-time alert, via the GUI, based at least in part on the one or more predictions.

3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the integration of the computer system with the plurality of health sensors is performed by automatically pairing the health sensor to one or more devices of the computer system.

4 . The method of claim 2 , wherein a pairing procedure for a health sensor is based at least in part on the testing procedure.

5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein a health sensor is paired according to the testing procedure.

6 . The method of claim 4 , wherein a health sensor is unpaired according to the testing procedure.

7 . The method of claim 4 , wherein a pairing procedure for a health sensor comprises i) obtaining a list of available sensors.

8 . The method of claim 2 , wherein an instruction of the set of instructions is audible, textual, pictorial, animated, or some combination thereof.

9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the instruction comprises displaying an image of a health sensor.

10 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the instruction comprises announcing the name of a health sensor.

11 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the instruction comprises providing a description of the health sensor.

12 . The method of claim 2 , wherein a format for the instructions may be specified by the subject.

13 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising, prior to (d), indicating a progress of a measurement by a health sensor via the GUI.

14 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the indication is a visual indication or an audible indication.

15 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising, prior to (d), determining whether a measurement by a health sensor is valid or invalid.

16 . The method of claim 15 , further comprising providing an instruction to retake the measurement via the GUI if the measurement by the health sensor is invalid.

17 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the GUI is configured to be displayable on a mobile device.

18 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the mobile device is an electronic tablet.

19 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the plurality of health sensors is configurable via a visual code.

20 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the visual code is a barcode or quick response (QR) code.

21 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the alert is displayable on an electronic display.
