Abstract

Embodiments of the present concept provide an electronic gaming device that facilitates wagering by multiple players on a single gaming device. Also provided is a method of sharing game play on such a gaming device, where the method includes receiving a wager from a first player at a first gaming station, receiving a wager from a second player at a second gaming station, initiating a gaming event that is displayed at the first and second gaming stations, and awarding prizes associated with gaming outcomes displayed at the first and second gaming stations.

Claims (59)

1 . A method comprising:

receiving, at a first gaming station associated with a first section of a user interface of an electronic gaming device, a first player identifier;

associating the first player identifier with one or more first individual game elements of a gaming session;

receiving, at a second gaming station associated with a second section of the user interface of the electronic gaming device, a second player identifier, wherein the second gaming station is adjacent to the first gaming station;

associating the second player identifier with one or more second individual game elements of the gaming session;

determining, based on tracking one or more user interactions with the first section of the user interface, a first preferred pace of play associated with the first player identifier and, based on tracking one or more user interactions with the second section of the user interface, a second preferred pace of play associated with the second player identifier;

executing one or more common game events;

based on executing the one or more common game events, determining, based on the one or more first individual game elements and the one or more second individual game elements, one or more common game elements;

asynchronously outputting, based on the first preferred pace of play, the one or more first individual game elements via the first section of the user interface and, based on the second preferred pace of play, the one or more second individual game elements via the second section of the user interface; and

synchronously outputting the one or more common game elements.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the electronic gaming device comprises one or more additional gaming stations.

The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more first individual game elements and the one or more second individual game elements comprise one or more of: one or more dealt cards, one or more paytables, one or more player inputs, one or more credit increases, or one or more credit decreases, and wherein the one or more common game events comprise one or more dealt cards, one or more paytables, one or more player inputs, one or more credit increases, or one or more credit decreases.

The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more common game elements comprise one or more of: one or more dealt cards, one or more paytables, one or more player inputs, one or more credit increases, or one or more credit decreases, and wherein the one or more common game events comprise one or more dealt cards, one or more paytables, one or more player inputs, one or more credit increases, or one or more credit decreases.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first player identifier is received at a first time and the second player identifier is received at a second time, the first time being different from the second time, the method further comprising:

adjusting an output timing parameter associated with one or more of the first section of the user interface or the second section of the user interface to synchronously output the one or more common game elements.

6 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

determining, based on the one or more first individual game elements and the one or more common game elements, a first game outcome;

determining, based on the one or more second individual game elements and the one or more common game elements, a second game outcome;

sending the first game outcome to a mobile device associated with a user associated with the first player identifier; and

sending the second game outcome to a mobile device associated with a user associated with the second player identifier.

The method of claim 1 , wherein asynchronously outputting the one or more first individual game elements and the one or more second individual game elements comprises causing the one or more first individual game elements to be output at a first pace and the one or more second individual game elements to be output at a second pace.

8 . One or more non-transitory computer readable media storing processor executable instructions thereon, that when executed by a processor, cause the processor to:

receive, at a first gaming station associated with a first section of a user interface of an electronic gaming device, a first player identifier;

associate the first player identifier with one or more first individual game elements of a gaming session;

receive, at a second gaming station associated with a second section of the user interface of the electronic gaming device, a second player identifier, wherein the second gaming station is adjacent to the first gaming station;

associate the second player identifier with one or more second individual game elements of the gaming session;

determine, based on tracking one or more user interactions with the first section of the user interface, a first preferred pace of play associated with the first player identifier and, based on tracking one or more user interactions with the second section of the user interface, a second preferred pace of play associated with the second player identifier;

execute one or more common game events;

based on executing the one or common game events, determine, based on the one or more first individual game elements and the one or more second individual game elements, a first game outcome associated with the first player identifier and a second game outcome associated with the second player identifier; and

synchronously output, based on the first preferred pace of play, the one or more first individual game elements via the first section of the user interface and, the one or more second individual game elements via the second section of the user interface.

9 . The one or more non-transitory computer readable media of claim 8 , wherein the electronic gaming device comprises one or more additional gaming stations.

The one or more non-transitory computer readable media of claim 8 , wherein the one or more first individual game elements and the one or more second individual game elements comprise one or more of: one or more dealt cards, one or more paytables, one or more player inputs, one or more credit increases, or one or more credit decreases, and wherein the one or more common game events comprise one or more dealt cards, one or more paytables, one or more player inputs, one or more credit increases, or one or more credit decreases.

The one or more non-transitory computer readable media of claim 8 , wherein the processor executable instructions, when executed by the processor, further cause the processor to determine, based on executing the one or common game events, one or more common game elements, and wherein the one or more common game elements comprise one or more of: one or more dealt cards, one or more spinning reel outcomes, one or more cast die results, one or more paytables, one or more player inputs, one or more credit increases, or one or more credit decreases, and wherein the one or more common game events comprise one or more dealt cards, one or more spinning reel outcomes, one or more cast die results, one or more paytables, one or more player inputs, one or more credit increases, or one or more credit decreases.

The one or more non-transitory computer readable media of claim 11 , wherein the first player identifier is received at a first time and the second player identifier is received at a second time, the first time being different from the second time, and wherein the processor executable instructions, when executed by the processor, further cause the processor to:

adjust an output timing parameter associated with one or more of the first section of the user interface or the second section of the user interface to synchronously output the one or more common game elements.

13 . The one or more non-transitory computer readable media of claim 8 , wherein the processor executable instructions, when executed by the processor, further cause the processor to:

determine, based on the one or more first individual game elements, the first game outcome;

determine, based on the one or more second individual game elements, the second game outcome;

send the first game outcome to a mobile device associated with a user of the first gaming station; and

send the second game outcome to a mobile device associated with a user of the second gaming station.

The one or more non-transitory computer readable media of claim 8 , wherein the processor executable instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to synchronously output, the one or more first individual game elements and the one or more second individual game elements, further cause the processor to output the one or more first individual game elements via the first section of the user interface at the first preferred pace of play and output the one or more second individual game elements via the second section of the user interface at the first preferred pace of play.

15 . An electronic gaming apparatus comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing processor executable instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the electronic gaming apparatus to:

receive, at a first gaming station associated with a first section of a user interface of an electronic gaming device, a first player identifier;

associate the first player identifier with one or more first individual game elements of a gaming session;

receive, at a second gaming station associated with a second section of the user interface of the electronic gaming device, a second player identifier, wherein the second gaming station is adjacent to the first gaming station;

associate the second player identifier with one or more second individual game elements of the gaming session;

determine, based on tracking one or more user interactions with the first section of the user interface, a first preferred pace of play associated with the first player identifier and, based on tracking one or more user interactions with the second section of the user interface, a second preferred pace of play associated with the second player identifier;

execute one or more common game events;

based on executing the one or common game events, determine, based on the one or more first individual game elements and the one or more second individual game elements, one or more common game elements;

asynchronously output, based on the first preferred pace of play, the one or more first individual game elements via the first section of the user interface and, based on the second preferred pace of play, the one or more second individual game elements via the second section of the user interface; and

synchronously output the one or more common game elements.

16 . The electronic gaming apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the electronic gaming apparatus comprises one or more additional gaming stations.

The electronic gaming apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the one or more first individual game elements and the one or more second individual game elements comprise one or more of: one or more dealt cards, one or more paytables, one or more player inputs, one or more credit increases, or one or more credit decreases, and wherein the one or more common game events comprise one or more dealt cards, one or more paytables, one or more player inputs, one or more credit increases, or one or more credit decreases.

The electronic gaming apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the one or more common game elements comprise one or more of: one or more dealt cards, one or more paytables, one or more player inputs, one or more credit increases, or one or more credit decreases, and wherein the one or more common game events comprise one or more dealt cards, one or more spinning reel outcomes, one or more cast die results, one or more paytables, one or more player inputs, one or more credit increases, or one or more credit decreases.

The electronic gaming apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the first player identifier is received at a first time and the second player identifier is received at a second time, the first time being different from the second time, and wherein the processor executable instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the one or more processors to:

adjust an output timing parameter associated with one or more of the first section of the user interface or the second section of the user interface to synchronously output the one or more common game elements.

The electronic gaming apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the processor executable instructions, that when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to asynchronously output the one or more first individual game elements and the one or more second individual game elements, further cause the one or more processors to output the one or more first individual game elements at a first pace and the one or more second individual game elements at a second pace.
