Abstract

A trailer configured to transport a load includes a bed including an upper surface configured to support the load, a slot positioned in the bed and extending from a front portion of the bed to a rear portion of the bed, and a first rotation pin configured to translate within the slot and extending from within the slot to above the upper surface of the bed.

Claims (33)

1. A trailer configured to transport a load, the trailer comprising:

a bed comprising an upper surface configured to support the load;

a slot positioned in the bed and extending from a front portion of the bed to a rear portion of the bed; and

a first rotation pin configured to translate within the slot and extending from within the slot to above the upper surface of the bed, wherein the upper surface comprises at least one of a plurality of ball transfer units or a low friction material, the at least one of the plurality of ball transfer units or the low friction material configured to enable rotation of the load about the first rotation pin and translation of the load with the first rotation pin.

The trailer of claim 1 , further comprising a winch assembly coupled to a first side of the trailer and comprising a winch and a boom, wherein the boom is configured to extend outward from the first side of the trailer and the winch is configured to be connected to the load and to rotate the load about the first rotation pin.

3. The trailer of claim 2 , wherein the winch is positioned at a proximal end of the boom and is configured to be connected to the load via a pulley at a distal end of the boom.

4. The trailer of claim 2 , wherein the boom is a telescoping boom configured to retract below the bed when not in use.

5. The trailer of claim 2 , wherein a proximal end of the boom is rotatably coupled to the bed, and the boom is configured to rotate to a position adjacent the trailer when not in use.

6. The trailer of claim 1 , wherein the upper surface comprises the low friction material.

7. The trailer of claim 1 , wherein the upper surface comprises the plurality of ball transfer units.

8. The trailer of claim 1 , wherein the first rotation pin comprises a plurality of rollers configured to allow the translation of the first rotation pin in the slot.

9. The trailer of claim 1 , further comprising a rear winch coupled to a rear of the bed, the rear winch configured to pull the load and the first rotation pin toward the rear of the bed.

10. A trailer configured to transport a load, the trailer comprising:

a bed comprising an upper surface configured to support the load;

a slot positioned in the bed and extending from a front portion of the bed to a rear portion of the bed;

a first rotation pin configured to translate within the slot and extending from within the slot to above the upper surface of the bed; and

a second rotation pin configured to translate within the slot and extending from within the slot to above the upper surface of the bed.

11. The trailer of claim 10 , further comprising a front winch coupled to a front of the bed and configured to pull the first rotation pin towards the front of the bed and a rear winch coupled to a rear of the bed and configured to pull the second rotation pin toward the rear of the bed.

12. A trailer configured to transport a load, the trailer comprising:

a bed comprising an upper surface configured to support the load;

a slot positioned in the bed and extending from a front portion of the bed to a rear portion of the bed; and

a first rotation pin configured to translate within the slot and extending from within the slot to above the upper surface of the bed,

wherein the bed comprises a second slot, the trailer further comprising a second rotation pin configured to translate within the second slot and extending from within the second slot to above the upper surface of the bed.

13. A trailer configured to transport a load, the trailer comprising:

a bed comprising an upper surface configured to support the load;

a slot positioned in the bed and extending from a front portion of the bed to a rear portion of the bed; and

a first rotation pin configured to translate within the slot and extending from within the slot to above the upper surface of the bed, wherein the first rotation pin comprises a bearing extending above the upper surface of the bed, the bearing having a substantially vertical axis of rotation.

14. A trailer configured to transport a load, the trailer comprising:

a bed comprising an upper surface configured to support the load, the upper surface comprising at least one of a plurality of ball transfer units or a low friction material;

a slot positioned in the bed and extending from a front portion of the bed to a rear portion of the bed;

a first rotation pin configured to translate within the slot and extending from within the slot to above the upper surface of the bed; and

a winch configured to be coupled to the load by a rope and to rotate the load about the first rotation pin;

wherein the first rotation pin is configured to be rotatably coupled to the load to enable rotation of the load about the first rotation pin and translation of the load along the slot.
