Abstract

The present disclosure is directed to automatically generating a 360 Virtual Photographic Representation (“spin”) of an object using multiple images of the object. The system uses machine learning to automatically differentiate between images of the object taken from different angles. A user supplies multiple images and/or videos of an object and the system automatically analyzes and classifies the images into the proper order before incorporating the images into an interactive spin. The system automatically classifies the images using features identified in the images. The classifications are based on predetermined classifications associated with the object to facilitate proper ordering of the images in the resulting spin.

Claims (69)

1. A method for generating an interactive rotatable spin presentation of an object, the method comprising:

providing a list of image classifications comprising:

a) a first image classification;

b) a second image classification;

c) a third image classification;

d) a fourth image classification;

capturing a plurality of images of the object, wherein the plurality of images comprises:

a) a first image of at least a first portion of the object;

b) a second image of at least a second portion of the object, wherein the second portion is different than the first portion;

c) a third image of at least a third portion of the object, wherein the third portion is different than the first portion and the second portion;

d) a fourth image of at least a fourth portion of the object, wherein the fourth portion is different than the first portion, the second portion, and the third portion;

wherein, when ordered in a first sequence, the first image, the second image, the third image, and the fourth image do not represent a rotational progression around the object;

wherein, when ordered in a second sequence, the first image, the second image, the third image, and the fourth image represent a rotational progression around the object;

using machine learning artificial intelligence to automatically classify the first image as the first image classification using the first portion;

using machine learning artificial intelligence to automatically classify the second image as the second image classification using the second portion;

using machine learning artificial intelligence to automatically classify the third image as the third image classification using the third portion;

using machine learning artificial intelligence to automatically classify the fourth image as the fourth image classification using the fourth portion and;

ordering the first image, the second image, the third image and the fourth image into the first sequence;

using machine learning artificial intelligence, the first image classification, the second image classification, the third image classification, and the fourth image classification to automatically order the first image, the second image, the third image, and the fourth image from the first sequence to the second sequence;

automatically combining the first image, the second image, the third image, and the fourth image to create a spin in the second sequence;

displaying the spin on a display; and

manipulating the spin on the display from a first perspective of the object to a second perspective of the object.

2. The method for generating an interactive rotatable spin presentation of an object of claim 1 , wherein the first image classification comprises a first location associated with the object and the second image classification comprises a second location associated with the object.

3. The method for generating an interactive rotatable spin presentation of an object of claim 1 , wherein the object is a vehicle.

4. The method for generating an interactive rotatable spin presentation of an object of claim 3 , wherein the first image classification comprises a first location associated with the object and the second image classification comprises a second location associated with the object.

The method for generating an interactive rotatable spin presentation of an object of claim 3 , wherein the first image classification comprises a first location associated with the object, wherein the first location is a location selected from the group consisting of front, rear, driver side, and passenger side.

6. The method for generating an interactive rotatable spin presentation of an object of claim 1 , further comprising:

automatically segmenting the first image to create a first segmented image comprising at least a portion of the object in the first image isolated from at least a portion of a background of the first image;

automatically segmenting the second image to create a second segmented image comprising at least a portion of the object in the second image isolated from at least a portion of a background of the second image;

wherein the step of automatically using the first image classification and the second image classification to combine the first image with the second image to create the spin comprises automatically combining the first segmented image with the second segmented image to create the spin.

7. The method for generating an interactive rotatable spin presentation of an object of claim 6 , further comprising:

wherein the first image comprises a plurality of features;

receiving the first image by a machine-learning service;

identifying at least one feature of the plurality of features in the first image using the machine-learning service;

wherein automatically classifying the first image as the first image classification using the first portion and machine learning artificial intelligence comprises performing a machine-learning operation of classifying the first image as the first image classification using the at least one feature.

8. The method for generating an interactive rotatable spin presentation of an object of claim 1 , further comprising:

automatically analyzing the first image to identify a first feature in the first image;

automatically generating a hotspot, wherein the hotspot is associated with the first feature;

automatically adding the hotspot to the spin at a location associated with a representation of the first feature in the spin;

wherein the hotspot is associated with a media element;

selecting the hotspot in the spin; and

automatically displaying the media element in response to selecting the hotspot in the spin.

9. The method for generating an interactive rotatable spin presentation of an object of claim 8 , wherein the media element is associated with the first feature.

10. The method for generating an interactive rotatable spin presentation of an object of claim 8 , wherein the first feature is a feature selected from the group consisting of a door, a wheel, a window, a windshield, a trunk, a hood, a bumper, a grill, a roof, and a door handle.

11. The method for generating an interactive rotatable spin presentation of an object of claim 8 , further comprising automatically analyzing the second image to identify the first feature in the second image.

12. The method for generating an interactive rotatable spin presentation of an object of claim 1 , further comprising:

automatically analyzing the first image to locate a portion of the first image showing a damaged portion of the object;

automatically adding a visibly perceptible damage indicator to the spin at a location associated with a representation of the damaged portion.

13. The method for generating an interactive rotatable spin presentation of an object of claim 12 , wherein the visibly perceptible damage indicator is a hotspot.

14. A method for generating an interactive rotatable spin presentation of an object, the method comprising:

providing a list of image classifications comprising:

a) a first image classification;

b) a second image classification;

c) a third image classification;

d) a fourth image classification;

capturing a plurality of images of the object, wherein the plurality of images comprises:

a) a first image of at least a first portion of the object;

b) a second image of at least a second portion of the object, wherein the second portion is different than the first portion;

c) a third image of at least a third portion of the object, wherein the third portion is different than the first portion and the second portion;

d) a fourth image of at least a fourth portion of the object, wherein the fourth portion is different than the first portion, the second portion, and the third portion;

receiving the plurality of images in a manner in which the second image is provided in a first sequence relative to the first image wherein the fourth image is not located between the first image and the second image;

using machine learning artificial intelligence to automatically classify the first image as the first image classification using the first portion;

using machine learning artificial intelligence to automatically classify the second image as the second image classification using the second portion;

using machine learning artificial intelligence to automatically classify the third image as the third image classification using the third portion;

using machine learning artificial intelligence to automatically classify the fourth image as the fourth image classification using the third portion;

using machine learning artificial intelligence, the first image classification, the second image classification, the third image classification, and the fourth image classification to order the first image, the second image, the third image, and the fourth image into a second sequence of the first image, the fourth image, the second image, and the third image that represents a rotational progression around the object;

automatically combining the first image, the fourth image, the second image, and the third image in the second sequence to create a spin;

displaying the spin on a display; and

manipulating the spin on the display from a first perspective of the object to a second perspective of the object.
