Abstract

A computer-implemented product palletizing system and a method of product palletizing which includes processor in communication with a memory element containing a computer code executable to coordinate the discrete activities of one or more pickers and conveyor product sorting assembly to allocate a plurality of products to a plurality of pallets.

Claims (40)

1. A retrofit of an existing palletizing system including a computer having a non-transitory memory element containing a computer code executable to generate a product list associated with a customer identifier, said product list containing one or more products, comprising:

a retrofit computer code executable to:

identify conveyor products in said product list generated by said computer code;

associate a pallet identifier with each of said conveyor products;

operate a product recognition device to identify said conveyor products based upon comparison of a product image to plurality of product image templates in a product image database; and

operate a product sorter to sort said conveyor products identified by said product recognition device into one of a plurality of conveyor lanes based upon said pallet identifier associated with said conveyor products.

2. The retrofit of claim 1 , wherein said retrofit computer code further executable to identify non-conveyor products in said product list generated by said computer code.

3. The retrofit of claim 2 , wherein said retrofit computer code further executable to:

display said product list on a mobile device; and

indicate on said mobile device said conveyor products.

4. The retrofit of claim 3 , wherein said retrofit computer code further executable to indicate on said mobile device said non-conveyor products.

5. The retrofit of claim 3 , wherein said retrofit computer code further executable to indicate on said mobile device to move said conveyor products onto a conveyor which conveys said conveyor products to said product recognition device.

6. The retrofit of claim 4 , wherein said retrofit computer code further executable to indicate on said mobile device to move said non-conveyor products to a pallet having said pallet identifier associated with said non-conveyor products.

7. The retrofit of claim 5 , wherein said mobile device comprises a first mobile device carried by a first picker.

8. The retrofit of claim 5 , wherein said mobile device comprises a second mobile device carried by a second picker.

9. The retrofit of claim 1 , wherein said retrofit computer code further executable to generate a product wave each associated with a product wave identifier, said product wave including a plurality of product lists.

10. The retrofit of claim 9 , wherein said retrofit computer code further executable to prioritize order in said plurality of product lists in said product wave.

11. The retrofit of claim 10 , wherein said retrofit computer code further executable to:

generate a plurality of product waves; and

prioritize order in said plurality of product waves.

12. A method of retrofitting an existing palletizing system including a computer having a non-transitory memory element containing a computer code executable to generate a product list associated with a customer identifier, said method comprising:

modifying said computer code with a retrofit computer code capable of:

identifying conveyor products in said product list generated by said computer code;

associating a pallet identifier with each of said conveyor products;

operating a product recognition device to identify said conveyor products based upon comparison of a product image to plurality of product image templates in a product image database; and

operating a product sorter to sort said conveyor products identified by said product recognition device into one of a plurality of conveyor lanes based upon said pallet identifier associated with said conveyor products.

13. The method of retrofitting of claim 12 , further comprising identifying non-conveyor products in said product list generated by said computer code.

14. The method of retrofitting of claim 13 , further comprising:

displaying said product list on a mobile device; and

indicating on said mobile device said conveyor products.

15. The method of retrofitting of claim 14 , further comprising indicating on said mobile device said non-conveyor products.

16. The method of retrofitting of claim 14 , further comprising indicating on said mobile device to move said conveyor products onto a conveyor which conveys said conveyor products to said product recognition device.

17. The method of retrofitting of claim 15 , further comprising indicating on said mobile device to move said non-conveyor products to a pallet having said pallet identifier associated with said non-conveyor products.

18. The method of retrofitting of claim 15 , wherein said mobile device comprises a first mobile device carried by a first picker.

19. The method of retrofitting of claim 17 , wherein said mobile device comprises a second mobile device carried by a second picker.

20. The method of retrofitting of claim 12 , further comprising generating a product wave each associated with a product wave identifier, said product wave including a plurality of product lists.

21. The method of retrofitting of claim 20 , further comprising prioritizing order in said plurality of product lists in said product wave.

22. The method of retrofitting of claim 21 , further comprising:

generating a plurality of product waves; and

prioritizing order in said plurality of product waves.
