Abstract

An offer processing system is configured to receive transaction data associated with user purchases from third party point of sales devices and/or third party payment processing systems. The offer processing system may then identify offers or savings that are applicable to the transaction data and redeem the offers on behalf of the users.

Claims (52)

1 . A method for processing orders external to a point of sale system and a payment processing system, the method comprising the steps of:

identifying and cataloging offers from external sources;

receiving transaction data via a vault system;

determining that transaction data associated with the purchase transaction and stored payment credentials meets or exceeds a criteria of an offer of the catalogued offers;

automatically redeeming a first currency value of the offer;

converting, by an offer system with a processor, the first currency value into an amount of a second currency of the offer system based on a current exchange rate between the first currency value associated with the offer and the second currency; and

crediting, by the offer system with the processor, the amount to a ledger of an account associated with the payment credentials in the second currency.

2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising the steps of:

determining a currency associated with a physical location of the user device;

converting a new value of the ledger into the currency associated with the location of the user device based on a current exchange rate between the second currency and the currency associated with the location of the user device; and

sending data representative of the new value in the currency associated with the physical location of the user device to the user device.

3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising the steps of:

receiving a request from a user device associated with the account to transfer a portion of the ledger to a third-party system;

determining a currency associated with the third-party system; and

converting the portion of the second currency credited to the ledger into a second amount of the currency associated with the third-party system based on a current exchange rate between the second currency and the currency associated with the third-party system.

4 . The method of claim 3 , wherein the currency associated with the third party system is determined based at least in part on a physical location associated with the third party system, a government entity associated with the third party system, or a selection by the third party system.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the transaction data is further received in tokenized form.

6 . A system for processing orders external to a point of sale system and a payment processing system, the system comprising:

one or more hardware communication interfaces that redeems an offer with a coupon settlement system via the one or more hardware communication interfaces, when transaction data is determined to meet or exceed a criteria for the offer;

one or more processors;

computer-readable storage media storing computer-executable instructions which, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to:

identify and catalog offers from external sources;

receive, via the one or more hardware communication interfaces and a vault system, the transaction data for the purchase transaction at a point of sale device;

determine that the transaction data associated with the purchase transaction and stored payment credentials of the user meets or exceeds the criteria of the offer of catalogued offers;

receive a first currency value associated with the offer from the coupon settlement system;

convert the first currency value into an amount of second currency of the coupon settlement system based on a current exchange rate between the first currency value and the second currency; and

credit the amount of second currency of the coupon settlement system to a ledger of an account associated with the stored payment credentials of the user.

7 . The system of claim 6 , wherein the computer-readable storage media stores additional computer-executable instructions, which when executed by the one or more processors cause the one or more processors to:

receive a request from a user device associated with the account to transfer a portion of the second currency credited to the ledger to a third party system;

determine a third currency associated with a third party system; and

convert the portion of the second currency credited to the ledger into a second amount of the third currency based on a current exchange rate between the second currency and the third currency.

8 . The system of claim 7 , wherein the currency value associated with the offer and the third currency are the same.

9 . The system as recited in claim 7 , wherein the third party system is at least one of:

a merchant system;

a financial system;

a charity system; or

a marketplace system.

10 . The system of claim 6 , wherein the computer-readable storage media stores additional computer-executable instructions, which when executed by the one or more processors cause the one or more processors to:

receive a request from a user device associated with the account to access the ledger;

determine a fourth currency associated with a physical location of the user device;

convert a new value of the ledger into the fourth currency based on a current exchange rate between the second currency and the third currency; and

send data representative of the new value in the fourth currency.

11 . The system of claim 10 , wherein the computer-readable storage media stores additional computer-executable instructions, which when executed by the one or more processors cause the one or more processors to:

receive a second request from a second user device associated with the account to access the ledger;

determine a fifth currency associated with a physical location of the second user device;

convert a second value of the ledger into the fifth currency based on a current exchange rate between the second currency and the fifth currency; and

send data representative of the second value in the fifth currency to the second user device.

12 . The system of claim 6 , wherein the computer-readable storage media stores additional computer-executable instructions, which when executed by the one or more processors cause the one or more processors to:

receive a request from the user device associated with the account to access the ledger; and

send data representative of the currency value in the second currency to the user device.

13 . The system of claim 6 , wherein the one or more processors further determines that the offer was not redeemed at the point of sale system.

14 . The system of claim 6 , wherein the transaction data is in tokenized form.
