Abstract

A display device includes a display panel, and a touch sensing unit on the display panel, the touch sensing unit including a first conductive pattern on the display panel, an insulating layer covering the first conductive pattern, and a second conductive pattern on the insulating layer, partially crossing the first conductive pattern, and having a thickness that is greater than a thickness of the first conductive pattern.

Claims (47)

1. A display device comprising:

an organic light emitting device layer;

a thin film encapsulation layer on the organic light emitting device layer, the thin film encapsulation layer having a first surface adjacent to the organic light emitting device layer and a second surface opposite the first surface and spaced from the organic light emitting device layer;

a buffer layer directly on the second surface of the thin film encapsulation layer; and

a touch sensing unit directly on the buffer layer, the touch sensing unit comprising:

a first conductive pattern on the buffer layer;

an insulating layer covering the first conductive pattern; and

a second conductive pattern on the insulating layer and electrically insulated from the first conductive pattern, the second conductive pattern having a thickness above the first conductive pattern in a thickness direction of the display device that is greater than a thickness of the first conductive pattern in the thickness direction of the display device.

2. The display device of claim 1 , wherein the first conductive pattern is directly on the buffer layer.

3. The display device of claim 1 , wherein the buffer layer comprises at least one of a silicon nitride, a silicon-oxy-nitride, or a silicon oxide.

4. The display device of claim 1 , wherein the thin film encapsulation layer comprises:

a first inorganic layer;

an organic layer on the first inorganic layer; and

a second inorganic layer on the organic layer.

5. The display device of claim 4 , wherein the buffer layer is directly on the second inorganic layer.

6. The display device of claim 1 , wherein a thickness of the insulating layer is less than a thickness of the second conductive pattern.

7. The display device of claim 1 , wherein the second conductive pattern comprises:

first touch sensor parts;

second touch sensor parts spaced from the first touch sensor parts; and

first connection parts connecting respective ones of the first touch sensor parts,

wherein the first conductive pattern comprises electrically conductive second connection parts connecting respective ones of the second touch sensor parts.

8. The display device of claim 7 , wherein the second connection parts are directly on the buffer layer.

9. The display device of claim 7 , wherein each of the first touch sensor parts and the second touch sensor parts comprises a plurality of mesh lines defining a plurality of mesh openings.

10. The display device of claim 9 , wherein the second connection parts cross the mesh lines of the first touch sensor parts and the mesh lines of the second touch sensor parts.

11. The display device of claim 7 , wherein at least one of the first connection parts or the second connection parts has a mesh shape.

12. A display device comprising:

an organic light emitting device layer;

a thin film encapsulation layer on the organic light emitting device layer;

a buffer layer directly on the thin film encapsulation layer; and
