Abstract

The invention features combination therapies using an IL-15-based superagonist complex and an antibody to effectively treat subjects with cancer and infectious diseases.

Claims (8)

1. A method of treating non-muscle invasive bladder cancer, the method comprising: administering by instillation into the bladder of a human subject in need thereof a pharmaceutical composition comprising

i) an effective amount of Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) and

ii) an effective amount of an Interleukin-15/Interleukin-15 Receptor alpha sushi (IL-15:IL-15RαSu) complex, wherein the IL-15 comprises a wild type IL-15.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the subject has BCG-naive non-muscle invasive bladder cancer.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein at least one binding partner of the IL-15:IL-15RαSu complex is a fusion protein, wherein the at least one binding partner is bound to a biologically active polypeptide.

4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the IL-15RαSu is genetically fused to an immunoglobulin Fc domain, or functional fragment thereof, wherein an IL-15RαSuFc fusion protein is formed.

5. The method of claim 4 wherein the IL-15RαSuFc fusion protein noncovalently binds IL-15 to form a fusion protein complex.

6. The method of claim 5 wherein the IL-15/IL-15RαSuFc complex comprises a dimeric IL-15RαSu and two IL-15 molecules.
