Abstract

A method for encoding data in a datacenter is provided that includes obtaining data to be encoded, encoding the data to a set of encoded spatiotemporal patterns, and outputting the set of encoded spatiotemporal patterns.

Claims (20)

1 . A method for encoding data in a datacenter comprising:

obtaining the data to be encoded, the data including first information intended for a first recipient and second information intended for a second recipient;

encoding the data, including the first information and the second information, to a set of encoded spatiotemporal patterns, wherein, for each encoded spatiotemporal pattern of the set of encoded spatiotemporal patterns:

a first color of the encoded spatiotemporal pattern indicates a recipient of the encoded spatiotemporal pattern as the first recipient; and

a second color of the spatiotemporal pattern indicates the recipient of the encoded spatiotemporal pattern as the second recipient; and

outputting the set of encoded spatiotemporal patterns for transmitting the first information to the first recipient and the second information to the second recipient via the set of encoded spatiotemporal patterns.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein encoding the data to the set of encoded spatiotemporal patterns includes encoding the data into code symbols.

3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein a first code symbol includes a first level of intensity, and a second code symbol includes a second level of intensity.

4 . The method of claim 3 , wherein at least one of the first level or the second level of intensity is used for providing header information.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the set of encoded spatiotemporal patterns includes colors producible by visible light, and wherein each encoded spatiotemporal pattern of the set of encoded spatiotemporal patterns is presented at a same location at a different time.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first color and the second color are colors utilized for encoding the data itself.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the set of encoded spatiotemporal patterns encoding the data does not include a header indicating the recipient of the data.

8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein a third color of the set of encoded spatiotemporal patterns indicates a level of priority for the data.

9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the set of encoded spatiotemporal patterns includes one or more of a visible light and a near-visible light.

10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the near-visible light is one or more of an UV light and an IR light.

11 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the set of encoded spatiotemporal patterns further includes at least one of a shape factor, a location factor, a size factor, and a timing factor.

12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein at least one of the shape factor, the location factor, the size factor, and the timing factor indicates at least one of intended recipient for the data, and level of priority for the data.

13 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the set of encoded spatiotemporal patterns move in space relative to time.

14 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the set of encoded spatiotemporal patterns move in a predetermined pattern.

15 . The method of claim 1 , further including displaying outputted set of encoded spatiotemporal patterns.
