Games and gaming machines having wheel features
Gaming machines and games are configured with one or more wheel events or features. The wheel events or features may comprise main games or bonus games, or may comprise entertaining representations of outcomes of other games or events. The wheel events comprise the selection of one or more segments of a wheel having associated awards. Wheel events may have various entertaining configurations, including use of multiple wheels, concentric wheels and the like.
1. A method of presenting a wagering game having an associated wheel event presented on a gaming device having a wager accepting device configured to accept a physical item associated with a monetary value, at least one input device, and at least one display, comprising the steps of:
receiving a physical item associated with a monetary value at the wager accepting device from a player at the gaming device to increase a credit balance at the gaming device;
receiving a wager of one or more of credits of the credit balance from the player at the gaming device via the at least one input device;
graphically displaying base game information on the at least one display;
graphically displaying a wheel having a plurality of segments, one or more of the segments having a symbol associated therewith;
graphically displaying a wheel segment selection event comprising the selection of one of said segments of the wheel;
graphically associating a first symbol associated with the selected segment of the wheel with said base game information; and
determining an outcome of the base wagering game including the first symbol.
2. The method according to claim 1 , wherein said base game information comprises the display of one or more base game symbols, and wherein the step of graphically associating comprises transforming said displayed base game symbols to displace one of said base game symbols with the first symbol.
3. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the first symbol is a wild symbol, and wherein the outcome of said base wagering game is determined with reference to inclusion of said wild symbol.
4. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the first symbol is a multiplier, and wherein the outcome of said base game is determined with reference to inclusion of said multiplier.
5. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the at least one display comprises a first display and a second display separate from the first display, wherein the first display displays said base game information, and wherein said wheel and said wheel segment selection event are displayed on the second display.
6. The method according to claim 5 , wherein said step of graphically associating comprises graphically representing movement of said first symbol from the second display to the first display.
7. The method according to claim 1 , wherein said base wagering game is selected from the group consisting of a slot game and a bingo game event.
8. The method according to claim 1 , wherein said step of determining said outcome comprise determining whether a combination of symbols which includes said first symbol comprises a winning outcome.
9. The method according to claim 1 , wherein said step of graphically associating comprises graphically displaying movement of said first symbol from said wheel to a base game display.
10. A gaming machine configured to present a base wagering game, the gaming machine comprising:
a wager accepting device configured to accept a physical item associated with a monetary value from a player to increase a credit balance;
at least one display;
at least one player input device;
a memory device;
a controller; and
machine-readable code stored in said memory device and executable by said controller to cause said controller to:
receive a wager of one or more of credits of the credit balance from the player via the at least one input device,
graphically display base game information on the at least one display,
graphically display a wheel having a plurality of segments, one or more of the segments having a symbol associated therewith,
graphically display a wheel segment selection event comprising the selection of one of said segments of the wheel,
graphically associate a first symbol associated with the selected segment of the wheel with said base game information, and
determine an outcome of the base wagering game including the first symbol.
11. The gaming machine according to claim 10 , wherein said base game information comprises the display of one or more base game symbols, and wherein graphically associate comprises transform said displayed base game symbols to displace one of said base game symbols with the first symbol.
12. The gaming machine according to claim 10 , wherein the first symbol is a wild symbol, and wherein the outcome of said base wagering game is determined with reference to inclusion of said wild symbol.
13. The gaming machine according to claim 10 , wherein the first symbol is a multiplier, and wherein the outcome of said base game is determined with reference to inclusion of said multiplier.
14. The gaming machine according to claim 10 , wherein the at least one display comprises a first display and a second display separate from the first display, wherein said base game information is displayed on the first display and wherein said wheel and the wheel segment selection event are displayed on the second display.
15. The gaming machine according to claim 14 , wherein graphically associate comprises graphically represent movement of the first symbol from the second display to the first display.
16. The gaming machine according to claim 10 , wherein said base wagering game is selected from the group consisting of a slot game and a bingo game event.
17. The gaming machine according to claim 10 , wherein said machine-readable code is configured to cause said controller to cause display to display a graphical representation of movement of said first symbol to said base game information.
