Abstract

A telemedicine system can include a telemedicine management system configured to be wirelessly coupled to a portable medical device. The portable medical device can include at least one camera operably coupled to a main body. The portable medical device can be configured to transmit video data from the at least one camera to the telemedicine management system. The telemedicine management system can be configured to share the video data through a videoconference.

Claims (41)

1. A portable medical device, comprising:

a main body extending from a first end to a second end;

a first camera disposed at the first end, the first camera comprising an otoscopic lens and configured to facilitate examination of an ear of a patient, the otoscopic lens having a fixed magnification; and

a second camera disposed at the second end, the second camera comprising a video scope configured for adjustable magnification of an object, the second camera configured to facilitate examination of a throat of the patient.

2. The portable medical device of claim 1 , wherein:

the main body defines a longitudinal axis,

the first camera defines a first optical axis,

the second camera defines a second optical axis, and

the first optical axis and the second optical axis are substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis.

3. The portable medical device of claim 2 , wherein the first optical axis and the second optical axis are co-axial.

4. The portable medical device of claim 1 , wherein the main body defines a grip.

5. The portable medical device of claim 1 , further comprising a first button electrically coupled to the first camera, the first button configured to freeze a first frame of the first camera.

6. The portable medical device of claim 5 , further comprising a second button electrically coupled to the second camera, the second button configured to freeze a second frame of the second camera.

7. The portable medical device of claim 1 , further comprising a plurality of lights disposed circumferentially around the first camera.

8. A portable medical kit comprising the portable medical device of claim 1 , the portable medical kit further comprising a detachable component, the detachable component comprising:

an attachment feature configured to couple to the main body,

a mount that extends outward from the attachment feature, and

an elongated member extending axially from the mount.

9. The portable medical device of claim 1 , further comprising an extended mirror coupled to the main body.

10. The portable medical device of claim 1 , wherein the video scope of the second camera comprises a near-far general video scope.

11. An electronic system for a portable medical device, comprising:

a transistor circuit comprising a first power rail and a second power rail, the transistor circuit configured to determine a body temperature of a user;

a first image sensor;

a second image sensor;

an infrared sensor that is disposed proximal the second image sensor and distal to the first image sensor;

a transmitter;

a controller in electronic communication with the first image sensor, the second image sensor, the infrared sensor, and the transmitter, the controller configured to command the transmitter to transmit data to a user device; and

a shared frame buffer and pass through disposed electrically between the controller and the first image sensor and between the controller and the second image sensor.

12. The electronic system of claim 11 , wherein the controller is configured to transmit a first video data from the first image sensor and a second video data from the second image sensor.

13. The electronic system of claim 11 , further comprising a WiFi module, wherein the WiFi module is configured to transmit the data to the user device through a network.

14. A portable medical kit, comprising:

a portable medical device including a main body, a first camera, a second camera, and a first control button, the main body extending from a first end to a second end, the first camera disposed at the first end, the second camera disposed at the second end, the first control button configured to control a parameter of the first camera, the first camera comprising an otoscopic lens and configured to facilitate examination of an ear of the patient, the second camera comprising a video scope and configured to facilitate examination of a throat of a patient;

an extended mirror configured to detachably couple to the main body; and

a detachable component configured to detachably couple to the main body.

15. The portable medical kit of claim 14 , wherein the first camera defines a first optical axis and the main body defines a longitudinal axis, and wherein the first optical axis and the longitudinal axis are substantially parallel.

16. The portable medical kit of claim 14 , wherein the portable medical device further comprises a plurality of lights at the second end of the main body.

17. The portable medical kit of claim 16 , wherein the plurality of lights are configured to illuminate the object within a field of view of the second camera.

18. The portable medical kit of claim 14 , wherein the detachable component comprises:

an attachment feature configured to couple to the main body,

a mount that extends outward from the attachment feature, and

an elongated member extending axially from the mount.
