Abstract

A self-service terminal includes a user interface to provide information to a user of the self-service terminal, an interface modification button, and a control device configured to: determine, whether an interface interaction mode of the self-service terminal is a first interface interaction mode or a second interface interaction mode. The control device is also configured to instruct, in response to a user input at the interface modification button, a modification of: a first perceptible property assigned to the information, when the interface interaction mode is the first interface interaction mode, and a second perceptible property assigned to the information, when the interface interaction mode is the second interface interaction mode.

Claims (41)

1 . A self-service terminal, comprising:

a body with a stand and a tower positioned on the stand;

a user interface to provide information to a user of the self-service terminal;

an interface modification button spaced from the user interface;

a control device configured to:

determine, whether an interface interaction mode of the self-service terminal is a first interface interaction mode or a second interface interaction mode; and

instruct, in response to a user input at the interface modification button, a modification of:

a first perceptible property assigned to the information, when the interface interaction mode is the first interface interaction mode, and

a second perceptible property assigned to the information, when the interface interaction mode is the second interface interaction mode, wherein the second perceptible property is further defined as a position of the information on the user interface and the modification is further defined as not a change in the content of the information displayed on the user interface but a change in the position of the information on the user interface;

wherein the interface modification button and the user interface are held by the tower; and

wherein the modification of the second perceptible property is further defined as displayed on the user interface and comprises mirroring at least one operation element of a graphical output on the user interface that was displayed on the user interface prior to the modification, which represents the information,

wherein mirroring comprises to overlay the graphical output with a rearranged duplication of the at least one operation element.

2 . The self-service terminal of claim 1 , wherein the first perceptible property and the second perceptible property differ from each other in the perceptual sense, to which they are perceptible.

3 . The self-service terminal of claim 1 , wherein the first perceptible property is a video property specifically a graphical position.

4 . The self-service terminal of claim 1 , wherein the control device is configured to instruct the modification of the first perceptible property to an Application Programming Interface (API) of the self-service terminal.

5 . The self-service terminal of claim 1 , which is configured as an automated teller machine (ATM).

6 . The self-service terminal of claim 1 , wherein the first perceptible property is an audio property specifically an audio volume.

7 . The self-service terminal of claim 1 , further comprising a connection device, wherein the control device is configured to determine the second interface interaction mode as interface interaction mode, in response to the connection device being in usage by the user, and otherwise, determine the first interface interaction mode as interface interaction mode;

wherein the user interface is configured to implement an audio user interface by the connection device.

8 . The self-service terminal of claim 7 ,

wherein the connection device is configured to exchange an audio signal with a further connection device, when being coupled to each other; and/or

wherein the control device is further configured to determine the first interface interaction mode as interface interaction mode, in response to the usage of the connection device ended.

9 . The self-service terminal of claim 1 , wherein the control device is further configured to initiate a financial transaction based on an input at the user interface, which is requested by the information.

10 . The self-service terminal of claim 1 , wherein the control device is further configured when the interface interaction mode is the first interface interaction mode, to instruct a reversal of the modification of the first perceptible property, in response to:

a user touch input at the user interface;

when a time stamp of the modification of the of the first perceptible property fulfills a predefined criterion;

in response to a further user input at the interface modification button.

11 . The self-service terminal of claim 1 ,

wherein the modification comprises a modification of a first parameter controlling the first perceptible property, when the interface interaction mode is the first interface interaction mode.

12 . The self-service terminal of claim 1 ,

wherein the modification comprises a modification of a second parameter controlling the second perceptible property, when the interface interaction mode is the second interface interaction mode.

13 . The self-service terminal of claim 12 ,

wherein the modification of the first parameter induces a change from a value of the first perceptible property prior to the user input at the interface modification button to a different value of the first perceptible property; and/or

wherein the modification of the second parameter induces a change from a value of the second perceptible property prior to the user input at the interface modification button to a different value of the second perceptible property.

14 . The self-service terminal of claim 1 ,

wherein the information is invariant to the modification of the first perceptible property and/or of the second perceptible property.

15 . The self-service terminal of claim 1 ,

wherein the modification of the first perceptible property is in accordance with a stored parameter, and

wherein, the modification of the first perceptible property changes a value of the first perceptible property to the stored parameter.

16 . The self-service terminal of claim 1 wherein the mirroring is further defined as comprising to overlay the graphical output with the rearranged duplication and an enlargement of the at least one operation element.

17 . The self-service terminal of claim 16 wherein the mirroring is further defined as comprising to overlay the graphical output with the rearranged duplication and the enlargement of the at least one operation element while also displaying the graphical output as was displayed on the user interface prior to the modification.
