Abstract

Embodiments disclosed herein relate to methods of constructing a structure and related non-transitory computer readable medium. In an embodiment, the method includes (a) defining a vertical first slice and a second vertical slice of the structure. A lateral cross-section of the structure within the first vertical slice is different than the lateral cross-section of the structure for the second vertical slice. In addition, the method includes (b) depositing a plurality of first vertically stacked layers of an extrudable building material with a printing assembly to form the first vertical slice. Further, the method includes depositing a plurality of second vertically stacked layers of the extrudable building material atop the first vertical slice with the printing assembly to form the second vertical slice.

activating a third driver to traverse the printer assembly in the axis orthogonal to the plane to form the polygonal hollow core extending vertically substantially the height relative to the opening.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein depositing the portion of the bead of the extrudable material to form the end cap portion at the opening comprises:

depositing the portion of the bead of the extrudable material to form a door or a window.

5. The method of claim 1 , depositing the plurality of beads of the extrudable material within the enclosed border to form the infill comprises:

forming one or more ribs and one or more lattice members.

6. The method of claim 5 , wherein forming the one or more lattice members comprises:

forming at least one lattice member at an angle to a line segment extending to the end cap portion of the enclosed border.

7. The method of claim 5 , wherein depositing the plurality of beads of the extrudable material within the enclosed border to form the infill comprises:

forming one or more of fixed infill and variable infill.
