Abstract

Systems and methods that enable a user at a streaming device interacting with a live streaming platform to enter a demonstration mode and selectively employ content to stream from the demonstration mode to one or more client devices also interacting with the live streaming platform.

Claims (36)

1 . A live streaming platform server comprising:

a processor; and

a memory device that stores a plurality of instructions that, when executed by the processor responsive to a determination to enable a demonstration mode of a streaming device, cause the processor to:

following an activation of a gaff to play a wagering game in the demonstration mode and responsive to a receipt, from the streaming device, of data associated with a first play of the wagering game occurring in the demonstration mode being displayed in association with the streaming device, communicate, to a client device and at least partially based on the data communicated from the streaming device, a first live stream comprising at least the first play of the wagering game occurring in the demonstration mode being displayed in association with the streaming device, wherein the activation of the gaff to play the wagering game in the demonstration mode occurs prior to the displayed first play of the wagering game occurring in the demonstration mode and the first play of the wagering game occurring in the demonstration mode is at least partially based on the activation of the gaff to play the wagering game in the demonstration mode, and

responsive to a receipt, from the streaming device, of data associated with a second play of the wagering game occurring in a non-demonstration mode being displayed, independent of any activation of the gaff to play the wagering game in the demonstration mode, in association with the streaming device, communicate, to the client device and at least partially based on the data communicated from the streaming device, a second live stream comprising at least the second play of the wagering game occurring in the non-demonstration mode being displayed in association with the streaming device.

The live streaming platform server of claim 1 , wherein the gaff to play the wagering game in the demonstration mode comprises one of a predetermined game outcome, an activation of a feature associated with the wagering game in the demonstration mode, and an increase of a balance of demonstration credits of the streaming device.

3 . The live streaming platform server of claim 1 , wherein the determination to enable the demonstration mode is based on at least one of an attribute of the streaming device, and an attribute of a user of the streaming device.

4 . The live streaming platform server of claim 1 , wherein the determination to enable the demonstration mode of the streaming device occurs independent of the processor.

5 . The live streaming platform server of claim 1 , wherein data associated with the activation of the gaff to play the wagering game in the demonstration mode is received from the streaming device.

6 . The live streaming platform server of claim 1 , wherein data associated with the activation of the gaff to play the wagering game in the demonstration mode is received from the client device.

7 . The live streaming platform server of claim 1 , wherein the memory device stores a plurality of further instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to disable wagering of monetary credits on the first play of the wagering game.

8 . The live streaming platform server of claim 1 , wherein the memory device stores a plurality of further instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to enable wagering of monetary credits on the second play of the wagering game.

9 . The live streaming platform server of claim 1 , wherein the streaming device comprises any of an electronic gaming machine and a slot machine interface board.

10 . An electronic gaming machine comprising:

a display device;

a processor; and

a memory device that stores a plurality of instructions that, when executed by the processor responsive to a receipt of data associated with an enablement of a demonstration mode, cause the processor to:

display, via the display device, an activatable gaff to play a wagering game in the demonstration mode,

respective to an activation of the gaff to play the wagering game in the demonstration mode followed by an occurrence of a game triggering event:

for a first play of a wagering game occurring in the demonstration mode, display, via the display device, a predetermined game outcome associated with the activated gaff to play the wagering game in the demonstration mode, and

communicate, to a live streaming platform, data associated with the first play of the wagering game occurring in the demonstration mode, wherein the live streaming platform causes a first live stream that is at least partially based on the communicated data to be displayed at a client device, and

respective to the game triggering event occurring independent of any activation of the gaff to play the wagering game in the demonstration mode:

for a second play of the wagering game occurring in a non-demonstration mode, display, via the display device, a randomly determined game outcome, and

communicate, to the live streaming platform, data associated with the second play of the wagering game occurring in the non-demonstration mode, wherein the live streaming platform causes a second live stream that is at least partially based on the communicated data to be displayed at the client device.

11 . The electronic gaming machine of claim 10 , wherein the demonstration mode is enabled based on at least one of an attribute of the electronic gaming machine, and an attribute of a user of the electronic gaming machine.

12 . A method of operating a live streaming platform server, the method comprising:

responsive to a determination to enable a demonstration mode of a streaming device, following an activation of a gaff to play a wagering game in the demonstration mode and responsive to a receipt, from the streaming device, of data associated with a first play of the wagering game occurring in the demonstration mode being displayed in association with the streaming device, communicating, to a client device and at least partially based on the data communicated from the streaming device, a first live stream comprising at least the first play of the wagering game occurring in the demonstration mode being displayed in association with the streaming device, wherein the activation of the gaff to play the wagering game in the demonstration mode occurs prior to the displayed first play of the wagering game occurring in the demonstration mode and the first play of the wagering game occurring in the demonstration mode is at least partially based on the activation of the gaff to play the wagering game in the demonstration mode, and

responsive to the determination to enable the demonstration mode of the streaming device, responsive to a receipt, from the streaming device, of data associated with a second play of the wagering game occurring in a non-demonstration mode being displayed, independent of any activation of the gaff to play the wagering game in the demonstration mode, in association with the streaming device, communicating, to the client device and at least partially based on the data communicated from the streaming device, a second live stream comprising at least the second play of the wagering game occurring in the non-demonstration mode being displayed in association with the streaming device.

The method of claim 12 , wherein the gaff to play the wagering game in the demonstration mode comprises one of a predetermined game outcome, an activation of a feature associated with the wagering game in the demonstration mode, and an increase of a balance of demonstration credits of the streaming device.

14 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the determination to enable the demonstration mode is based on at least one of an attribute of the streaming device, and an attribute of a user of the streaming device.

15 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the determination to enable the demonstration mode of the streaming device occurs independent of the processor.

16 . The method of claim 12 , wherein data associated with the activation of the gaff to play the wagering game in the demonstration mode is received from the streaming device.

17 . The method of claim 12 , wherein data associated with the activation of the gaff to play the wagering game in the demonstration mode is received from the client device.

18 . The method of claim 12 , further comprising disabling, by a processor, wagering of monetary credits on the first play of the wagering game.

19 . The method of claim 12 , further comprising enabling, by a processor, wagering of monetary credits on the second play of the wagering game.

20 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the streaming device comprises any of an electronic gaming machine and a slot machine interface board.
